why am I a crook?

also, i find it interesting that you would take the time to write that you have the info but won't share it, rather than simply not respond. it goes without saying what I think you are... :)
An astute, discerning individual? ;)

Yes, I have that info.

No, I won't tell you.

From what I read in this thread, I think you are a crook.

How is that even REMOTELY similar?

Giving bad info, as you have shown a propensity for, is much worse than giving NO info.

First - you don't even know if this was a mistake
Second- our OP has a collection agency calling for his MOTHER.

Tell me, how is your "advice" to just ignore it even worth the pixels on the screen?

first of all, "an astute discerning individual" **************.... that was funny.

secondly, my situation is a bait and switch type thing. somewhat similar to the other guys with the exception of having my mom paying for the stuff, which complicates it a little more. in my situation, i ordered stuff and paid, but they want some of it back or pay more. i am not a crook but, i don't expect you to believe nor do I care if anyone does.

i just want to know what is/can occur from the other side as far as reporting to credit agencies and hiring collections agencies.

i do appreciate all the help so far.

They are calling for your mom, right? It's HER credit that's getting dinged.

ok, ill do the numbered list thing too ...

first - this is the second time today you have "put words in my mouth"
where did i say " my advice - ignore it"

second - theres a quote feature here it is so you can quote me instead of talking out your "butt" all the time

third- how do you know it wasnt a mistake ?

fourth - so what if they're calling for his mother

fifth - i bet 10k of your posts are of #1, and 10k of #2 :D

yeah zig. i think they are going to have a tough time dinging her credit. i can see an argument for mine as I ordered the stuff but her, no way. like i said before. if i order books and sign the order but, I get you to pay for it, i'm on the hook, not you. or do you guys disagree with that? also, it would be a different story if i was a minor but, that's not the case.

all they will be able to give the CRA is a copy of a check she signed for payment. i don't think that will be enough to ding her credit without more. what do you think?

I think you are naive and I agree with DC's prior post.

maybe if there was someone here who actually knows what they need to put it on your credit report, instead of people who pretend to know and go "na-na".

unless you signed some "automatic material sending" contract that stated you would be charged for subsequent materials sent to you ?

i signed nothing other than an order form which consisted of my address and a check box for what i was ordering.

there was no mention of having to return any materials until after I ordered. in fact, it was never addressed until the updated materials were sent. it basically said you must send this back within one day of taking your test and they are on loan. if you don't send them back you must pay $300.

you're right, i am naive, i think people should do what they say. also, i'll be damned if i'm going to let someone extort me.

put aside your cynicism for a second, if you can, pretend that things went down the way I said they did. just pretend, would you send it back or pay $300? answer that honestly.

it's kind of an old bait and switch deal, and neither me or my naivety will stand for it. would you?
