What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Arizona
Okay this is sort of a long one. Recently my brother in law started dating a sixteen year old, he just turned twenty and she will be seventeen at the end of June. They are not having sex so I am somewhat okay with their relationship. Now to the issue, the girl lets call her *Sandy. She has not had her period since November of 2009, she is not pregnant and the doctors can't find anything wrong with her. Her parents refuse to take her to get more advanced tests done because get this... they don't want to pay the co-pay, $40.... I mean they don't even care about her, what if she has fricken cancer?? They both work so I have no clue what the heck their problem is. My only conclusion is that they don't give a flying crap about her. My question is what can she do legally? What can we do to help her, if anything? I was considering letting her move in with us when she turns seventeen, but i'm afraid that her parents will call the police about my brother in law. ( They know how old he is and that they are dating ect. and they are fine with it. they even let her come over and stay until 1 am on school nights...) So basically I have 2 questions : What can she legally do for herself since her parents don't care about her health, and what age is the age of consent/ moving out on your own. What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
