What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? new york
I made an account with a bank about 5 months ago. When I went to take money from my ATM, it displayed account deactivated. So I went inside the branch, and the manager told me they had me listed as an employee of the bank and I had a security block on my account. He told me he would have to switch my account to a normal one and that he didn't need me for anything so I left. This morning when I visited a different branch while I was in a rush they denied giving me my funds. I left that branch and called corporate and after quite some time they finally concluded that the proper forms were never faxed from the original branch I made the account with. I want to know if I can be compensated from the bank for the trouble I went through today without being able to access my account.
