What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Washington

My 14 yea old daughter is with friends in Washington because we just moved there last month from California. Im currently in California retrieving our property from the old address until monday while she's with my friends. She just told me late tonight that she was molested 10 years ago by someone I know. My friends want to go to the police or take her to a psychologist ASAP but she doesnt want to go to either. Who do I contact? (its already 1AM). Do I make a statement to the police or contact an attorney first? The shock is killing me.

Can you identify who this alleged molester is? Do you have an idea where the incident(s)took place? That is the police district you need to contact.your daughter needs to return to that area to make her own statement so an investigation can take place.

Your feasible options were:

1. Contact CPS
2. Contact the police
3. Contact an attorney
4. Contact a psychologist
5. Register on a message board..

...and you chose #5?

Believe me - at least 3 of those would have an after-hours number for you to call....

The agency of jurisdiction would be the agency responsible for law enforcement services in the location where this occurred.

If you report it to them they are going to want to speak to her.

Do you know what specific types of acts are alleged to have taken place?

You have to understand that suddenly recalling some sort of molestation when a person was aged four years old will be extremely suspect. Absent some serious corroboration (through statements of witnesses, peers who she has told over the years, etc.) or an admission by the suspect, this will be darn difficult to prove even if it really did happen.

Make sure she gets into counseling no matter what decision is made. But, if you believe this truly occurred, then I also encourage you to contact the local police agency of jurisdiction and get the ball rolling. If true, then this guy has likely done it before and will continue to do it until stopped. ... IF it is true.

1. Contact CPS
CPS (America's KGB) routinely lies so they are not an option. Besides the fact that the incident occurred 10 years ago and my daughter is no longer in contact with the perpetrator so contacting kidnappers wont improve the situation.
2. Contact the police
Which precinct? The incident occured in Los Angeles but Im not there yet and my daughter is in Tacoma Wa.

3. Contact an attorney
Thats why Im here.
4. Contact a psychologist
At midnight on a saturday night?
5. Register on a message board.....and you chose #5?
Clowns shouldnt give advice in life or death predicaments.

Yes, she described some of the incident(s) last night for the first time.

I do understand that and Im praying that the incident or incidents didnt actually happen but I nonetheless I believe she is telling the truth. Im not one who takes something this serious lightly. However who can I trust? The police? Social workers & the Social Services Gestapo? Lawyers? these kinds of incidents destroy and/or bankrupt everyone involved and as her father (and sole supporter since her mother is incommunicado) I need to secure her future.

I will.

Alright. I dont know all the circumstances yet since she is so upset that she blames me for not protecting her. The person who did this lied to her by stating that I would not disapprove if he were to touch her private areas or even have sex with her (which is utterly preposterous). Since I know this man personally my gut reaction, besides mortal shock is to throw him down a well but at the same time I realize the tragedy since he has claimed to love her like his own God-daughter for many years. I havent spoken to him for several weeks now and dont know what the actual truth is yet. If this is true then he owes us restitution.

So you not willing to contact an agency because of your personal fear, you don't want to get to the bottom of the truth? Really?

Contact the police. They'll contact CPS for you. If you refuse to see justice through by doing something for your daughter, you don't deserve her.

Depends on the agency. CPS is in violation of the law and cant be trusted. Ive seen how they treat people.

you don't want to get to the bottom of the truth?
I do but not with Kommisars involved.

Contact the police.
I will through an attorney.

They'll contact CPS for you.
Thats a step backwards.

If you refuse to see justice through by doing something for your daughter, you don't deserve her
Opinion noted....now go to hell.

Yet another case of, I only want the answers I want to hear; I want to solve this problem the way I want to and anyone who tells me something different is wrong. I'm really only here to find someone to tell me I'm right.
