Oooo... I grew up going to Kennywood when I went to school in PA. The Tuesday after Memorial Day EVERY YEAR was our school picnic. I remember when they had tickets instead of passes.
I love Kennywood because of the age of my kids. My son can ride approximately half the rides (he did NOT like the pirate ship but LOVES the whip and the water rides -- spent 45 minutes standing near the Pittsburgh Plunge to get soaked). Kennywood is a great park for the family. It is NOT huge BUT it is also not overly priced and has a nice family atmosphere.
Love Phantom's Revenge. Haven't ridden the skyrocket or Exterminator though.

Do you remember when they had tickets, and TAX tickets (I'm giving away my age, it was in the 70's) Do you remember the Rotor? It never failed, every time I went on it someone tossed their chocolate dipped square ice cream with nuts and a cherry on top!

Our school picnic is always the first Wednesday in June. this year its June 1st and for the first time in many years all 4 of my kids are going. (thankfully, because I am done with roller coasters and they all love them, so my son will have pleanty of people to ride them with while I ride the swings. The Exterminator my son's personal favorite. I'm such a baby anymore, I have to keep my eyes closed on the pirate ship.

OH man. Remember the salt and pepper shaker ride? I don't like the pirate ship but went on it because my son wanted to go. Oh man.... It scared him when the ship stood on end and his tummy went -- he got off and said That was FUN BUT NEVER AGAIN MOMMY! Agreed. Agreed. Agreed.
