What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? ca
Would it help/hurt someone's case if they were to marry while awaiting trial for first degree murder (self defense though).
Thanks

FIRST degree murder?

Claiming self-defense?

Let me check your post hx real quick...

..ok, nothing really heinous there :)

So..what exactly are the circumstances? There IS a reason why I'm asking :)

maybe we need you to represent him because that's what he's being charged with and is waiting to go to trial for. Never mind the question anymore I got my answer somewhere else. By the way, who would lie about such a thing?
Thanks.

People who are guilty lie about many things.

In fact - humans in general lie about many things.

And third parties RARELY know the actual details of the situation.

:D that was good...funny and good...;)
says the one with the person person on trial for murder.

getting married, is the last thing that should be done while a person is on trial for murder.

a real man would wait until his life was cleaned up before hauling someone else into his mess.

You can NOT get charged with first degree murder as a result of a fight ... unless the person that you kill is a cop.

So, either your fiance is lying to you, or you are mistaken as to the charge he is being charged with. Read up on it and you will learn a little about it. You should probably also read up on your boyfriend's actual case ... I mean the transcripts, not what he tells you.

By the way, who would lie about such a thing?
Thanks.
Someone who wanted to exaggerate his or her charges for some reason ... or, someone who wanted to downplay the seriousness of his offenses. "Yes, it's first degree murder, but it was an accident when I was fighting back when I was jumped." Sounds great, but cannot happen.

Furthermore, what makes you think getting married during the case will HELP him in any way?

Do you think the jury and judge will say "hey this guy just got married, lets drop all of the case."

My daughter's father tried this stunt when he was nailed for armed robbery... "could you please tell the judge I have a child on the way, so maybe he wont send me to jail for 5 years?."

I hung up on him post haste and didn't contact him any more then the (one) pic of the baby.... for 5 years. 17 year old pretty boy, sent upstate to an adult prison for 5 years.

lets just say he came out a really different person.

And the judge was especially hard on him because he wouldn't give up his accomplices. (they robbed a cops son. cops don't take to kindly to personal attacks)
