As I mentioned, the way to appeal this is through the procedure provided by the school and the district. Trying to convince US that the suspension was unfair will avail you of nothing. Your legal recourse is to adhere to the procedures provided by school and district policy to contest the suspension.
Read the definition above, and then your description of what happened:the definition of hazing is per the athletic handbook at the school is;HAZING An activity in which a person intentionally or recklessly endangers the physical health of another person for the
purpose of initiation into or affiliation with a student organization, academic association, or athletic team of a school.
Do you truly not understand how this action fits the definition of hazing?Well a few of the other players took the tape from him and taped him in the chair. <snip> Team mates proceeded to loosely tape his wrists and ankles to a rolling chair then pushed him into the quad area and walked away from him,
They were not affiliated with a team. None of us, including you, know what happened to these students. You seem to think you have a magical video monitor into the inner workings of the principal. You most certainly don't, and wouldn't be privy to the discipline of other students anyways. So you tell me why then when there was an incident where students put baby oil on the steps to see who would all fall on their as_ _es that that was not considered hazing and why those students were not suspended nor kicked out of school. They knowingly and admittedly put all students and teachers in a dangerous situation by emptying bottles of baby oil all over the steps - doesn't make sense to me. They intended to harm someone, these football players did not intend to nor did they actually hurt anyone.
Was it my choice or are you asking if I was duct taped into it by force at the time?Have none of you ever thought being pushed or spun around in a rolling chair fun when you were a teenager?
Where in the heck do you live? On the backstage of an off broadway reproduction of "FootLoose?"Just like kids putting another kid in a shopping cart and pushing it as fast as they go??
Dunno. The coach was probably trying to destroy ALL the evidence to protect the stupes. I can't tell you... you will have to ask the coach. The victim brought the tape and proposed the question with the intent on taping up someone, it could have been anyone in that room, the other team members felt why dont you see what its like to be taped to a chair and pushed around.....why were the photos of all the kids grinning and laughing deleted?
Because he/she can. Apparently, when he/she told the parents about the hazing, the parents all responded with "it really isn't a big deal" and so he/she wanted to stop the madness before someone really got hurt. Why did the freshman and junior varsity teams have their season ended by the principal?
I am guessing that the reason for the stopping of the football season has a direct linkage to the principal hearing the other stories, too.I am saying the punishment is to extreme for the crime - I could see it if they meant to harm someone - I have been told countless stories of pranks the team has pulled on each other some are far worse than this
Wow.actually oh so wise one, I am privy to what disipline those kids faced as one of them is a close family friend so I DO know that all those kids with malicious intent were only subjected to 2 weeks of in house suspension - amazing as their act could have SERIOUSLY injured someone, broke someones arm, leg, back caused concusions ect...so you DONT know me and what I do know for you to say I am NOT privy - I would NOT have brought it up had I not KNOWN first hand what happened!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
NO NO NO NO NO.Ok - I can see this site is only set up to belittle the one with the question. You are not reading all of it - the school has to prove malicious intent or the intent to cause harm - they have failed to do so as there is none to prove
Okay, so you don't see the problem, then you do see the problem, then you don't see the problem, then you do see the problem but I have the misunderstanding.as for me being tied in a chair and rolled into the quad - NO big deal if you do it without intent to hurt me, embarrass or degrade me - I have been the pawn of many pranks - I know some pranks get out of control - the kids were wrong and yes they should be punished you are not understanding,
Sorry, Pookie.but then again from your responses it doesnt appear you are open minded people that look at the entire scenario you only see parts of it - this site sucks
I was a school principal. I would have done the exact same thing this principal did. You're right we're not open minded to hazing that could have led to the serious harm of the victim. I see the whole scenario - you don't.Ok - I can see this site is only set up to belittle the one with the question.
