What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? New Jersey

Can my son change probation officers since she says unfair and hurtful things

he is on probation for possession of cds

Even though this is a duplicate thread, I'm going to reply here.

Your son needs to realize that this is the consequence to his illegal behavior. His PO is not there to be nice to him, to be his friend, to make him feel better about himself. S/he is there to make sure Young James walks the straight and narrow. 'Cause if he doesn't? He can spend some time with other people who aren't going to be nice to him. Like prison guards and inmates.

If Young James were my son, I'd smack him upside the head and tell him to count his blessings that he's not making friends with Bubba.

What did you think he was going to get, a freaking sweet-talking grandma??? You have got to be kidding lady.

If he had a momma who controlled her "baby" then possibly, just possibly he wouldn't need a probation officer to begin with.

Poor poor parenting, and the cycle continutes:rolleyes:

Sometimes people are rude. Tell sonny to deal with it. I'm sure it's not the first time he's had to cope with someone being rude but even if it is, I guarantee it won't be the last.

"Rude" is very subjective. I suspect this PO is simply "firm"

This is even a better lesson than that. The PO is IN CHARGE of son's life. With cause, he can have son pay for his crime(s) behind bars. That's good as son needs some work on following authority.

Someday, if he learns his lesson, he can work for a boss. Bosses generally can't put you in jail, but they can pay you or fire you and not pay you. That decision makes the boss IN CHARGE of the worker during the work day. (Some go further like drug testing and similar things.)

Some bosses are unfair, hurtful and demanding about minor matters. Son might as well learn how to hoopjump satisfyingly now when it really matters BEFORE he reaches the point in his work life. Then he has a choice to comply or look for another job. If the lesson is not learned, the only option will be to find another job as he won't have the life skills to deal with the adversity.
