What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
California

I am an 18 year old girl who is 5 months pregnant. My boyfriend is 17 but will be 18 in less than 3 months. He's a senior in high school. Can he legally leave his dad's house without his dad's permission before he's 18 since we're expecting a child? We were both 17 when I got pregnant. We live in California. What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

legally, absolutely not. are you aware the age of consent in CA is 18? and you had sex with an underaged child if this child was conceived while you were still 18?

What if he graduates before he's 18?

And i just turned 18 this month. We were both 17 when i got pregnant.
Then he'll be a High School graduate at 17. Of course, he's still under 18. They are still teaching the whole "greater than/less than" concept in our schools, right?

Clearly not.

They're also not teaching research, reading, writing, or basic biology.

Then you both committed a misdemeanor criminal offense per PC 261.5. Typically it would be the male charged, however.

IF both the boy's parents agree to allow him to move out, he can. However, if they allow him to move out to play house, then they could be charged with child neglect and you could go to jail for unlawful sexual intercourse. If he leaves without permission, they can report him as a runaway and the cops can drag him back home. Plus, anyone aiding him in this endeavor can go to jail.

It might be best for him to wait until he is 18 so that anyone's potential for jail time is minimized.

graduating high school still doesn't magically make him a legal adult.

the way the law is written: you are a legal adult at the age of 18.

not "you are a legal adult at the age of 18 or at the graduation completion of required high school education/GED or pregnancy/expectation of a child."

I'm a Northern Girl
Fathering a child at the age of 17 does not make him an adult.

Fathering a child at the age of 17 just makes him one more horny teenager who doesn't have the self-control to wait until it's legal or the brains to wear a condom.

No, he cannot leave his parent's home without permission until he is 18. Period.

No, legally he can not do it. But I want to see how the cops dragging a guy from his GF pregnant with his child, or from his newborn because he ran away from home to help them. Yep, I think not only me, but some journalists also will be very glad to see it.

Or, from another angle, how about the cops taking him away from an adult who has been having an illegal sexual relationship with him and who is now harboring a runaway and returning him to his home and family?

My reposne is equally as factual as yours.....
