So it's been a week & a half since the incident and although I've followed up with the business responsible, I haven't heard anything from the 'accident investigator' that is supposed to call me.

So before I do anything else stupid (like wait too long ) SOL on PD is 5 years, but I don't want to wait that long and weaken what 'case' I may have...Is there anything else I should be doing?

I'm feeling a tad uneasy because I have always heard from an adjuster within 24 hours of ANY accident and the only answer I'm hearing from the responsible party is that 'I gave them all of the information, They should be getting in touch with you'

Didn't know if there was some secret to it, like jumping on one foot in a cirle while reciting the alphabet in reverse, etc. etc.

No secrets. Commercial claims take longer, and this is the holiday time. Don't expect to hear anything until at least next week.

Okay. So still nothing. I sent an email to the transportation manager today asking for his contact at the insurance company since I haven't heard anything FROM ANYBODY...and it's been 6 weeks.

I received no response from him...

I've followed up every 10 days to let him know that I haven't received any calls...and his response every single time, is 'I'll call them again'

Any suggestions on how to get the ball rolling?

Personally, I'd report it to my insurance company and let them fight it out. It wouldn't affect my premium and I'd get my deductible back.

You haven't indicated whether or not you have the insurance coverage for this, so that might not be your route to take.

Start with a written demand letter - certified mail, return receipt requested. Give them a reasonable amount of time (in your case, I'd lean towards 10 business days) in which to respond.

I only carry liability insurance since it's paid for. But, like I mentioned before, even if I carried full coverage, I'd be real, real hesitant to file a claim since the carrier I use is super finicky and I would be taking the chance of getting dropped.

Plus, it's just the a/c condenser and the front grill, so it's not like I can't drive the car in the meantime. And, if the repair wasn't so dang expensive (I get parts at cost and labor at an almost non-existant rate, and condensers are HIIIIIIIGHHHHH and I would have to have it professionally installed since it would need to be re-charged, blah blah blah) I wouldn't even go through the headache. But I'm looking at over a grand, not including the grill.

Do I send the demand letter to the attention of the contact or ...

Sure - and if you can track down other "higher-ups" it couldn't hurt to cc them too.

Success! The final demand letter worked like a charm. I had a phone call and a visit from an appraiser first thing this morning.

High-fives all around; aaaaand a little 'atta boy' action to Z. Thanks for pointing out the obvious.
