What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Oklahoma
I'm 18 year old senior and attending public high school. In our school system we have special program that allows students to spend half of their school day taking classes at what I believe to be know as a trade school. Our school system also has a special program that makes it mandatory for students to receive tutoring if their grades are failing or if a teacher requests it. This tutoring is done at the time of a regular lunch day at school. This puts me in an unique situation. I happen to be currently failing British Lit. which means I am forced to go to tutoring at 12:15. I'm then released from tutoring at 12:41. Which i then gather up my stuff and proceed to the front of the school which has bus to take us to our trade school. Which arrives at 12:55 at the trade school. This leaves me 5 minutes or less to proceed to there cafeteria, order food, eat and get to class by 1:00(normal high school students have to be in class by 1:11). The trade school is very strict on there attendance only allowing 6 absences and if a miss more i loose all high school credit i have earned the past 2 years attending the class. Also if i were to take the first bus to my trade school (skipping tutorial) the school will punish me with in-school suspension and take away school activities such as prom. So if I abide by all rules set in place I simply do not have enough time to eat lunch. My other options lead me to either being banned from prom or as far as not graduating due to loss of credit. What are my options here? Can the public schools take away my lunch like this?
