Yes but if it is banned, then we don't get to educate people about the mistakes made due to what is in that book> That book has value and should not be banned. Nor should it be relegated to where only a select few can have access to it to make sure it is properly studied/utilized/learned.Well, Mein Kampf caused quite a problem...
I agree with you - while the book itself is by no means to be taken lightly, my reference to it was meant in jest.Yes but if it is banned, then we don't get to educate people about the mistakes made due to what is in that book> That book has value and should not be banned. I am so totally anti banning of books. As for banning hunger games because of sex, violence and unsuitable to age group -- let's start by banning the Bible -- it has ALL those things. Every single one. Yet the people calling for a ban -- many of them use their religion as a reason why hunger games should be banned. The Bible is one of the worst offenders for containing sex, drugs, alcohol, violence...
It was a rhetorical question.Narrow minds. Basically the idea that if it offends them it shouldn't exist at all.
It's funny, on the Christian radio the other day, the Pastor was talking about biblical family values and how some churches won't marry or accept as members folks have been previously divorced or had children out of wedlock, etc....He then led into how it is virtually impossible to find an "ideal family" in the Bible. Almost every family mentioned was completely dysfunctional--murderers, rapists, slanderers, human traffickers, etc.....I am so totally anti banning of books.
