Oh Hell no.

First you say they were filed and there was no record of it. Then you said you were charged so there is a record of it. Now you say you aren't sure they were filed but somehow you have a good memory of it.

then you say this is a hypothetical.

take your troll a** somewhere else.
NOW I'll bet you want to tell us what you had for lunch -- and maybe even your favorite tv show! :p  ;)

a fat free provolone grilled cheese on whole wheat. Doc is after me to cut down on carbs and fats. Damn is that hard, especially since that was about 99% of my diet before the new diet.
You beat me to it, for which I award you a silver star for your Chart. ;) :)

What a mean ol' doctor. Sounds like you made the best of it, though: grilled cheese...mmmmm.... :)

He was charged for the cavity treatment, which he received, which includes drilling, filling, and shaping/filing the filled tooth. He is apparently complaining because his bill was not itemized for every step of the process, and he supposedly remembers something happening that was not explicitly listed on his paperwork.

My lunch is late today, I'm having an italian hoagie sandwich. Yum! I was going to skip lunch and then I remembered I'm going out for drinks with my school friends to get a last bit of fun in before the semester starts and we are drowning in work again, empty stomach bad!

I think Zigner's a peach!

I had a BLT for lunch, haven't had one for ages. It was ever-so-yummy.

My favorite tv show is...oh, that's not what we're doing here?

Oh. Okay.

Blues BLT Sandwich:

Corondo Apple Cider Bacon (3-4 slices )
Fresh Tomato (from a local farm, bright red and smelling of Basel)
Spring mix green lettuce.
Swipe mayo in either side of hearty whole wheat or white bread.

YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!! My Older Brother once ate 8 in a sitting. And YES! It is THAT GOOD!:)

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?California

Every time I post a thread here, nothing shows up so I am forced to edit and re-post. Why is this?

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California.
I went to a Western Dental office specifically for treatment of cavities and later for braces. When I was being treated for braces, I believe the dentist took it upon himself without even informing me, to file down my two front upper teeth. When I asked Western Dental about this, they claimed to have no record of it. But is this not a convenient ploy to escape culpability? They cannot claim that since I consented to treatment, they are not responsible, because I only consented to treatment for the cavities, not cosmetics. What are my rights? Please, only serious and knowledgeable people reply.
If you were treated for cavities there will be a record of the treatment done. And there would be a billing record to correlate this too.

If you were treated for braces, there should be x-rays, study models and before and after photos. Comparison would have to be done.

Sounds like you need to have another doctor request your records, review the treatment and get this explained to you as you seem to have hit an impasse.

In California, you can make a complaint to the State Dental Board and they will look into the request. Since Western Dental is high on their list of problematic businesses, you should get a proper review of your case and a decision as to if the treatment was proper.

That might be your best way to proceed immediately.

And it is a sorry situation when the State Board of Dental Examiners knows of problems but aren't forward in letting consumers know the problems that they are aware of.

No, the teeth that were filed down had nothing wrong with them. They had no cavities. That's the problem. I went there for the specific treatment of cavities, not for cosmetic purposes.

but you yourself said you are not sure they were filed. Then you said you were billed for it but there wasn't a record of it (how do they put something on a bill and it not be a record in itself)?

now, with your new thread, it really shows the problem.

Maybe, because you don't really remember or know what happened.

Sometimes it is necessary to adjust other teeth after a filling, so that your bite lines up correctly. It's not cosmetic or unnecessary. IF it even happened.

You can go away now.
