Dcss set the amount. I was told it was based on a year, 52wks. So it will always look like in have arrears till the end of the year. So if they tax money from my return, then I over paid come the end of the year? I understand that a month is not four weeks, but lastnight my worker told me I'm only paying the $276 .92 a month.

So, you HAVE been paying short each month. So, you have now been shown that you are in arrears and they intercepted your tax refund to cover the arrearage. I'm glad your problem was solved.

Yes I been paying short per month, but pay in full each year if you count by weeks like their system set it up as. I glad you see that as fair.

If you are having $276 per MONTH total taken out, then you are not paying $300 per month.

I understand that and asked about it when it first started. The answer I got was it works out at the end since its 52wks. If you add it by 52wks its right. But either way, if THEIR system set it up then its wrong and put me into hot water.

I would disagree. Ultimately, it's YOUR responsibility to make sure that your support obligations are paid in full and on time.

I with you all the way, again that's why I asked about it. I asked like three times and was told the same thing, its 52wks no need to worry. I feel like its a scam.

It's not a scam. Just faulty math somewhere. So, from here on out, pay an extra $20-odd early on, and you'll be good.

The request for a tax intercept must have been done before November. How much did they take towards the arrears? What do they say the total amount of arrearage is?

I don't have the notice with me but they took about $180.00 when I looked at the dcss web site it shows I'm late $151, but it also doesn't show a payment from three checks ago and this last check. It does however show the check between the two, odd? Now you may say $180 is not a lot and you're right. I don't really care so much about the money, its the point that I was told over an over not to worry about anything by my case worker and its their system that set up this whole thing so how can I owe arrears?

That's been thoroughly explained to you already.

Ok let me re word it since sometimes what we type doesn't always read the same.

What I mean is,

If dcss knows how much I owe and "they" set it up to take what I owe from my check, then how can ithey tell me I owe more? This is how they set it up, not me. If it were up to me I'd pay $300 every month, not $69.23 a week. Does that make sence?

As I said before, ultimately, it's on Y-O-U (YOU) to make sure that your support obligation is paid in full.

So what you are saying is my case worker lied when she told me I didn't have anything to worry about when I asked her about this two years ago, (and two more times after) and I should never believe anything that dcss tells me and to give the system extra money?
