What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Arizona

I'm currently undergoing severe emotional trauma at a university, because I'm not getting the courses that I wish to take as a master's student. I may be forced to pay and take courses(as being an international student I HAVE to take 3 courses or so they say) that I dont wish to take, and I simply cannot handle that kind of stress, is it illegal for me to let the department know this and expect them to help me? Or could I be blamed for being mentally affected ?(I dont want my degree to be affected in any manner because of this !)

Also please suggest any ways that I may have in convincing the department to give me the courses, in case they can but arent just willing to !
And from an international students perspective, does the university have a right to give me reduced course load more than once during the tenure of my degree?
Sorry if I sound confused :(

You want to sue the university because they aren't offering your desired courses in the order and timeframe you want them to? Good luck.

What would you do if they offered the last two classes you require at the same time on same days?

It's your responsiblity to know you degree requirements and schedule your course load in such a way that you meet them.

I never used the word 'Sue'. I was merely looking out for what options I have. This degree means a whole lot to me.

It's not illegal for you to communicate your situation with the university. It's not illegal for you to expect them to help.

It's also not illegal if they take no action on your comments.

I assume you "have to" take three courses to be considered a student, correct? You need to be a student or the purpose for your visa is not valid, correct? The college is saying the courses you want to take are full, not available, you don't have the proper requirements or some other reason, correct?

If all the above are true, you have no legal quarrel with the college. That you are experiencing stress over this is not their fault. They are not doing anything wrong to you. Reporting that stress may be useful to you, but not to solving the problem. The only way to solve the problem is to find out the reason why you cannot take the courses you want and see if you can do anything related to that. Since you have provide no information as to the true problem, we can't help you.

Well, to provide more insight to the problem . Most of these courses are hoarded by students, who happen to get them first by a fraction of seconds. They are then hoarded, traded, sometimes even sold ! Now as a graduate student, Im more worried about getting a job or doing research, rather than indulging in a black market to trade for courses!
I hope I'm making myself clear.

Sometimes you have to play the game. Again, this is not the "fault" of the university.
Perhaps you need to get there a minute earlier...

Again, Im not blaming or intending to sue. Im just looking to see whether there's any way in which I can be helped by the university.

Then you are asking the wrong people.

Speak to your counselor at the University.

I trust you are not suggesting that they should hold open a place in each course just for you, even if others apply first.

I work for a major university and also take classes there. The dates for enrolling in courses are available WEEKS in advance. If you delay your enrollment, that is no one's fault but yours. You are no more special than any other student, and no more entitled to be enrolled in any given class than anyone else. If that stresses you out, then get there sooner. You are free to present your case, but the college is also free to tell you to pound sand.

I am talking about NOT BEING able to enroll , because of a problem with THEIR blackboard system.(Sorry if I hadnt brought this up earlier).

And as for what exactly happened. Enrollment opens at 5 am , I ENROLL at exact 5 :00:00, BUT Im greeted by a random error screen. By the time I go back and click enroll at 5:00:30, my classes are gone! Hope that lends some perspective.

You have no legal avenue to force the college to allow you preference over others. I am uncertain how course enrollments can be traded, but I'll take you at your word. Go to your councilor or the course(s) professor to see if they will let you in.

Then you are doing something wrong. There is no way that every single course you want to take is filled up in the first minute. That defies logic. Have your adviser show you how to work the enrollment system.

I am talking about the first 15 seconds here. The minute is too long a time duration. The enrollment system is pretty simple to understand even for a junior school kid,so Im pretty sure I know it.
