What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Georgia
I was at a party that got busted. I'm underage and there were 3 of us standing around a box with beer in it in the back porch area, so they said we're all getting charged with underage possession. Ok, fair enough. A cop went to pick up the box, looked under a table nearby and from a grove underneath he pulls out this dirty, disgusting looking pill and tells us it looks like ecstasy. He asks us if we threw it there. My friend tells him that thing looks kind of weathered and like it's been there a while. It looked like at one stage in its life it had been bright yellow, not anymore. So at a moment when the cop was slightly distracted by another cop I casually took a photo of it on my phone (cos I don't trust where this is going), which the cops hated and wanted me to delete it. I said sorry my phone's locked now and was there a law that I broke? The photo is of ok quality and shows that there is definitely crap stuck to the pill that wouldn't happen if someone had just tossed it there. It shows the different shades of yellow on it and that the imprint on it is messed up.
Anyway, they got all annoyed and arrested all 3 of us for possessing 1 ecstasy pill. People must be on ecstasy rations. Surprisingly enough my phone didn't go missing at jail booking and I still have the photo.
How are we in possession of this pill when we have no knowledge of it, it's out of our reach, it's obviously been sitting there longer than a few minutes? We'd had a few drinks, had not taken any drugs/were not under the influence of E. And how do 3 people possess 1 ecstasy pill?
Can we use the photo? Is it useful?
