I didn't write the law. And Marihuana has two acceptable spellings.Yo, OG - do the people of Ohio not know how to spell marijuana?
What do you know about the new recently passed ordinances in Ohio, Ohiogal, that decriminalize possession of marijuana/marihuana under 200 grams? These new ordinances join several other similar ordinances already in existence in Ohio.I didn't write the law. And Marihuana has two acceptable spellings.
I don't practice in Toledo or Dayton or Norwood. So I really don't involve myself with those local ordinances. Here is a link to Toledo, Ohio's 2015 ordinance and its status. Please note that the decriminalization of the under-200-grams misdemeanor part of the ordinance was not challenged as unconstitutional - only the felony part was.

The "Sensible Marijuana Ordinance" in Toledo is what the other cities in Ohio patterned their ordinances after in the recent election.
Well ... the local ordinances don't really matter for Elizabeth anyway as 3/4 ounce of marijuana is clearly within your State's law making less than 100 grams a minor misdemeanor.I don't practice in Toledo or Dayton or Norwood. So I really don't involve myself with those local ordinances.
FWIW it's also spelled that way in the New York Penal Law.And Marihuana has two acceptable spellings.
Streetsboro, it’s in the Akron/Cleveland areaWhere do you live in Ohio?
Unless you are WAY off with your 3/4 ounce estimate, your possession of marijuana should be a minor misdemeanor which will not appear on your criminal record. It, like your stop sign offense, should result only in fines.
You can wait for the notice to arrive to see what it says - and then ask for advice and direction from an attorney in your area of Ohio.
Good luck.

I have a partial list of cities in Ohio that have decriminalized marijuana possession of less than 200 grams of marijuana but I do not have Akron, Cleveland or Streetsboro on my list. This does not mean they haven't passed ordinances that decriminalize between 100 and 200 grams. It could just mean my list is incomplete.
But the amount of marijuana you said you possessed (if close to being accurate) would be a minor misdemeanor under Ohio state law, anyway.
And, for those who might be interested, there is a Washington Post article written by Christopher Ingraham with a brief history on the spelling of the words used for cannabis. Title: 'Marijuana' or 'Marihuana?' It's all weed to the DEA.
