It sounds as if the couple did something wrong. I am pretty sure they know what it is.

I agree with the other responses, pcarsonxx. Showing there was age discrimination requires more than just knowing the age of a person. Facts matter in law - and you have not provided the facts necessary to show the old couple was escorted from the restaurant and barred from reentering simply because they were old.

pcarsonxx, I am a volunteer on this forum, as are the others who responded to your questions.

I guess I should now ask who you are and why you care so much about the couple and their less-than-pleasant dining experience.

I'm told over and over again, that the restaurant owners can eject anyone for any reason whatsoever, and can use taxpayer money, the police, to perform the ejection, allowing manager/owners to remain anonymous. WOW!!!!

Not for "any reason whatsoever". The business may eject any patron for any reason other than reasons that amount to illegal discrimination. You may find the principle that a business may refuse to serve anyone it does not wish to serve to be objectionable, but that has been the basic rule in this country for over two centuries, and reflects the idea that individuals and businesses are free (for the most part) to conduct their affairs as they wish. That's a principle I and many others support.

Nothing in your posts suggest that age was the reason they were kicked out. But even if it was neither federal nor Florida law makes it illegal for a business to discriminate against patrons on the basis of age.
