Does your lease address any of this - or do you even have a lease?

The city/county where you live may require regular fire inspections and if your landlord has a mortgage on the property, the lender will certainly require regular inspections.

I have a lease and it does not address inspections.
15 years and no lender inspections and no fire inspections for me or my neighbors..

Actually there is a mortgage on the property.
I'm now waiting for replies from members who have not posted on this thread as of yet.

I gave you what can occur in my state. California may well be different. I'm not going to do the research on California law for you as you are not my client and are not paying for my time. If you want to really know the civil risks that your landlord may have here then I suggest you consult a real estate attorney in California and pay for that advice. I agree that the landlord would not face any criminal problems here without having any knowledge of what is going on.

First, that article you linked to is from August 2018 and, second, although it might address Taxing Matters’ mention of Denver, Colorado, Fonz lives in California.

Marijuana laws are changing at the state level and it is entirely possible that sometime later this year the federal government will remove marijuana from its list of controlled substances.
