     Unless your expired lease states otherwise, you are only required to give a 15 day notice to vacate.

     They are only entitled to a 15 day notice to vacate. There is no such thing as “squatters rights” in Florida.

      Not stated on lease

      Not everything needs to be in a lease. State laws usually state what the penalty is for not giving proper notice. I believe that in CA, a 30 day notice can be given at anytime. You can chose to vacate earlier, but the landlord is still entitled to be paid for the full 30 days.
