It sounds like you just need to pony up and hire a lawyer.
You keep getting played by a manipulator.
You think this guy is a pedo, but somehow you are babysitting his anxiety?
Lastly, and bluntly, something is amiss in your story. I can't quite put my finger on it but you are either lying to...
If the stocks have been escheated (claimed by the state as abandoned property) there is a near certainty that there are no stocks to claim, only their liquidated value at the time of escheatment.
The OP said one thing then another and gave hours paid figures in conflict with the 'actually working' figures. OP is in Virginia and the events took place in Hawaii and 'the boss' (presumably in HI) had a different opinion. I think the certainty OP has of facts is less than 100%, yet she is...
I also concede that "going in for 3 hours and then being told "you don't need to be here, head on out...we'll see you tomorrow."" if that is the case then the employ is not owed OT.
I didn't condend that. Nor did I make any 7th day argument.

I suspect this is because what OP means by 'actually worked' is billable. That's her problem to eat. Manage the jobsite better and you don't have to pay employees for sitting...
The employee is owed 12.5 hours of OT because the boss is saying he worked at least 8 hours on monday to friday.
M=8
T=8
W=8
Th=14.5
F=8
Sat=5
Sun=1
That's 52.5 hours. That's MATH - no matter how "vehement" you are about the issue. ;)
Your employers boss understand he was 'engaged' - this...
