I hope you reread what I wrote. My point was that a deduction from rent is not a reduction of rent. For some reason, you keep conflating the two. Your rent hasn't changed. A mutual agreement to deduct repair costs from rent doesn't seem like an alteration in rent due, so there has been no "amendment, alteration, addition, or change" to the lease.
