On another forum where I post, we had a long thread from someone in the criminal law section in which he identified what he did and did not do. Then after he went to court, he came back and updated us; the cop in the case had come into the proceedings with a copy of the thread in which, of course, the poster had identified precisely what he had done. Lost the case. Game over. Written confession on an internet board.

There was a thread on here about a case. I had to laugh at what the kid posted as I had just received the police report on the offense the day before. When the juveniles came into my office for the Preliminary Inquiries, I already knew more than just what was in the police report. The kids never figured out how I knew stuff.
