You know, I have to say something that has been burning me up lately. I have read many posts with CPs asking questions about how to get support--how to be paid on time--what to do when they dont receive a portion, or a missed month. I have been seeing response after response that say "youre lucky you get anything--dont rock the boat--dont be greedy--some dont get anything".

While I agree that it is very unfortunate that many CP's dont receive their support for their children, I find it really depressing to be told--"youre lucky to get anything at all", the think of all the starving kids in China attitude.

If a court has ordered a NCP to pay a certain amount of support, well God Dang it--HOLD HIM TO THAT!!! I find it ridiculous that I should feel grateful or indebted that the NCP is doing what he supposed to do and if something is amiss, I should not rock the boat. This is MY CHILD'S support.

Some people may not agree with this but when support is not to you on time, or there is one missed month, JUMP ON THAT before it gets worse. Not rocking the boat is probably one reason so many NCP owe so much in arrears.

This is NOT a greedy opinion. This is a responsible and informed opinion. Dont feel guilty for trying to collected support that you are legally entitled to.

Um, J this poster did not indicate that dad was behind on his payments. Only that he wasn't paying in a way that she necessarily liked, or was sure was correct.

I am a proverbial boat rocker. (news flash huh??)

And OF COURSE children deserve the support due to them. That is the responsible behavior of a responsible parent, to make every effort to ensure that they get it.

Sorry, let me clarify. I was not referring only to this poster. I was saying that I have seen "post after post" regarding this sort of issue.

When I think about my order, it says that CS is due on the 1st of each month. Until the wage assignment went into effect, the NCP was to pay me on the 1st of the month. I understand that this poster is trying to be nice, work with the NCP etc but if the order says the 15th---I would try to enforce that.

Maybe I have become bitter--seeing all these CPs not being helped--in a timely manner, or at all.

IF you plan to criticize my post, please read the entire thread.
Fair said what I would have said to you.
That is all. For now.

Silver, I did not single you out. I read this entire thread. But as I just stated, I see this on this board repeatedly.

I disagree about taking what you can get--appreciate it if some pennies are thrown at you--think of all the CP's that get nothing. (Silver, I AM NOT SAYING THAT YOU SPECIFICALLY SAID THIS).

and you would be hard pressed to enforce that idea. Child support is not considered delinquent until 30 days AFTER the due date. Just like any other bill.

Well, of course, Fair, I know that. Am I a crazy person or something? Hasn't everyone seen thread after thread with posters being told WHAT ARE YOU COMPLAINING ABOUT--READ THIS SITE AND YOU WILL SEE HUNDREDS OF CP'S THAT GET NOTHING!!!! STOP BEING GREEDY--APPRECIATE WHAT YOU DO GET ETC ETC.

Im just saying that I feel that it is a poor practice. I am not saying to call 911 when you dont get your check on the 15th.

Well, I'm not sure, you are acting a little crazy today! ;)

Yes, I have seen the threads, and a few more lately than previously, and yes, they are irritating, and no I do not agree with them. Although the premise of being thankful for what you do get, does somehow resound with me. I am all for doing what is necessary to ensure the support of children (not necessarily of spouses, I have little tolerance for most of Those situations, but that is neither here nor there.) But other posters here have different opinions and they are certainly free to voice them, do I respond when I don't agree?? oh you have GOT to know that I do. But to the person and on the thread where it is appropriate.

Wage assignments are frustrating for both CP and NCP. I've been trying for 3 months to get my wage assignment fixed and it hasn't so now I'm almost a month ahead on my payments. That means I have to make adjustments when budgeting as well because the folks at CSE are idiots.

Sure the money is withheld on MY payday, but it may take up a week or more before mom gets it. Does that mean mom should drag me into court for something I have no control over? not trying to start a fight, just sayin' it goes both ways ;)

I've also seen many threads where people are told that they SHOULD be rocking the boat, and they've been letting the other parent slide.

Thank you for making that point, qurice.

To Anyone Else With A Problem: It was in THIS PARTICULAR INSTANCE that I thought this particular issue was not worth fighting about. And I still stand by what I wrote. It wasn't. So kill me.

No no no, of course not. I guess I should choose where I post my opinions. So I make my sorries to the board. I should have responded on the most recent thread that I saw where the poster was lamblasted for wanting the correct support. I was unable to respond, as the thread was closed.
