What is the name of your state? MO
So, I received a call today from an investigator with family services. He asked me to please call the city police dept because they all needed to meet with me. (And because THAT doesn't sound ominous AT ALL)
I called the police department, and spoke with a Sgt who said "Oh, yeah, you need to call him. We only go with because you live within city limits."
They gave me the investigator's number and I called and left him a voice mail to please call me back... so far he hasn't.
So, here's what I know.
The investigator and the police showed up at my apartment at some point today and we weren't home. The investigator then called me and the above took place.
The police couldn't tell me what this was regarding, just said "He has the paperwork, we're not really involved."
Obviously, I haven't spoken to the investigator yet.
I only have the girls until Tuesday at 8am and then they go to their dad's for their 2 weeks with him.
What's the protocol here? Do I keep calling the guy until I get in touch with him? Do I wait for the cops to come knocking on my door (and likely give me a heart attack)?
If they show up, do I HAVE to let them in - let's say I just got out of the shower, or I'm up to my elbows in dirty diaper, or we just sat down to lunch? Can I ask them to come back when it's more convenient for ME? Do I have to let everyone in?
I'm NOT trying to 'hide' anything at all. But I do suffer from anxiety disorder and it's seriously triggered by having ANY guests in my house, let alone a bunch of strangers with guns, and it's even worse with 'drop bys'... by boyfriend isn't allowed to come over without calling ahead of time - no one is. ... I just have this vision of the cops poking around while the investigator asks a million pointed questions and the kids freak out.
So... help?
Obviously, I feel seriously harassed by stupidhead, but there's nothing I can do about that, right?
