Ok, well I did ask the daycare if they can walk my child out with his father. They said no. I then clld highway patrol to see what my options were. They took my information and stated that a deputy would come out to talk to me. It has been 5 hours and still no deputy. Meanwhile my shild called this morning from my ex's cell phone to let me know that he was not in a car seat and his dad flipped out, screaming at my son, then proceeded to tell me that my child was in a car seat and he just didn't realize it. My child is 5 years old. My child knows the difference.

Is your ex using a booster seat now? You are right, the child should know whether he/she is in a car seat or not. I know that when I started to use a booster chair with my son (meet hight/weight requirements) he found it weird and called a his "little seat".

And your 5yo, just out of the blue, called to tell you he wasn't sitting in a car seat? With no prompting from you?

My response:

Geez, Stealth. Can't you make room for the possibility that instead of reading Mother Goose, the kid reads the California Vehicle Code?
