I'm glad they were willing to work with you, and I for one do not disbelieve you when you say that they were willing to do so.

However, that does not change the fact that had they not been, LEGALLY you would still have been responsible for the bill. The fact that they agreed to negotiate with you does not mean that they had any legal obligation to do so.

I agree, but things rarely go by the rule of the law anymore.(I could go on for days on that) Arbitration and negotiation should be first steps in any dispute, preferably before it is a dispute.
