Being malicious and being stupid are two different things. On one hand, it was stupid of you to do this because of the harm it could have caused poor ole' you. On the other hand, you were malicious in scamming an innocent buyer who believed they were purchasing an item, not a picture of an item.
KO,

This kid will learn soon enough. He'll be back here in no time at all asking for advice about what to do when he gets arrested.

is it ok if i asked what you did? srry if im getting to personal
Your conduct warrants no more answers from me. Instead, why don't you spend your time more productively by, say, volunteering - you help the community, plus it looks great on college applications and may give you an edge on a scholarship. Its a win-win-win. Better that than throwing it all away by committing fraud.

That's my advice kid. Good day to you.

You are not a nerdy smart guy. I'm sad to say that your behaviour was despicable. I hope that Ebay and the buyer take whatever action they can against you.

You lied to the buyer and you lied to us here on the forum. My mom used to tell me. "Te van a salir sapos de la boca si mientes." I think I'll send you a lilly pad:mad:

i deserve what ever happens. im sorry for lying to everyone also.
Go tell your parents what you did and hope that they can help you get out of this problem. It would be a horrible thing for the police to show up at your door looking for you and mom and dad have no clue why.

You were accepted by Georgia Tech?

Not for much longer.

Seriously - your problem isn't that you didn't think about who you may be hurting, but that you didn't THINK.

Period.

Grow the heck up, and if you are sued, get an attorney. Pronto.

Kinda my thought when he said he was 15. Georgia Tech does not typically recruit freshman/sophomores from high school. I have the gut feeling this was a lie - nobody that possess this potential would be wasting their time doing crap like this.

Also OP, it doesn't take a computer scientist (BTW, I happen to be one) to deal damage online this day in time. A smart person would not have acted on the impulse and done, dare I say, such a sloppy job as you have. A smart person would have thought through this and covered themselves.

If you're so bored, and have all this excess unused brain power, why don't you solve problems that are a little harder than this stupid one. For instance, try this:

Find all possible roots (real and complex) of: 0.4x^5 - 9x^3 - 1.414x^2 - 3 = 0. It's easily within the reach of a bright, super smart nerdy high schooler of your age.
