I hope more replies come about this topic My ex says he has e-mails from my friends that "tell him what Iam all about" which I think he doctored up from his computer because the people he has accused of this all deny any contact with him and they don't even know his mail address and when they see him they are going to give him what for..... So I hope more info about this topic surfaces.

just an FYI on the "doctoring up" emails.

a person can send an email to their own email address with anything written in it that they want to. they then hit reply (and if their computer automatically puts the original email in the reply) they can jump down and change who the email was sent from. they can also edit the email anyway they want to. then reply to it.

sounds confusing, but try it. it works. then he can have an email that isn't even from you, but will appear that it is. along with a time received on the server. of course, you can fight this one by pulling in experts, but it costs a pretty penny.

you would think that something that can be tampered with so easily would not be admissible in court.

amber, sounds like youve got a sneeker in there, trying to demean you, first thing to do,is check in your cookies in your computer, just to make sure, and rule out your children, just to make sure.if there is nothing that seems familuar to you in there, that even relates to the eledged account,,try to weed it out cautiously, check to see if you find something that relates to the eledged account.then sometimes while in there it will keep records of wether it was even signd into your computer.and you may be able toto find out if someone had signd in under the guest.another scenario is,do you think maybe you had accidently left your caps lock on at any time while you were signd on,if so,then a hacker could have got into your files, and found out your privite info.if the evidence is used in the court, just ascert that other people has,or have access to your computer, and there is no way by any means that the transmissions on the world wide web,is not immune to safety, and the wide spread of potential risks that involve the use of a computer, makes it impossible to determine that fraude could be an issue here,question-did your ex-have access to your computer at any time?dont claim an absoulution of fraud, just a possibility that it could exist.-----i am not an attorney,so as usuall you should contact one that is within your case discription.good luck.

thanks for the info! we just got done talking with a computer technician.

here is what i have learned so far....

the format that the emails were printed out on was suppose to be MS Outlook. we printed sample forms from the past three MS Outlook programs. his format did not look anything like that. we also highlighted and printed the selection - still nothing like that. we typed a MS Word document similiar - BINGO that did it. they were identical.

the date printed in the bottom corner that was suppose to have been frozen on a future date. (he claimed they were printed in Jan, but the date read late Feb) the computer expert stated that he has never in his career seen a computer that froze on a future date. they were always dates that had already occurred. he could not rule out that it wasn't a possibility, just that he had never seen it. he has been in the business for the past 19 years.

and the best. if you highlight the email that you want to read and then go to the FILE menu. click on properties. there should be a details page. this details page contains everything. who the email was sent from and when. along with the emails itself. you can not access the page (he said you probably could if you were a hacker, but that it would be difficult and easy to prove if you could access their computer). of course, you can not print the page either. you have to have access to their computer to prove it. your lawyer can get you that.

the alleged email account does exist. BUT, we also located 5 people in the united states with the same name as myself. (and here i though i was special) one lives about 45 minutes from me and guess what????? it's her account. the best we figure, they ran an email search and came up with that one and when it had the name with the state, they thought they had located mine.

we are setting everything up now and trying to admit the new evidence, including an affadavit from the computer tech.
