Exactly, The cops can do pretty much what they want, especially with you because it's your word against theirs.

If you do things that annoy the police
than you should be prepared to be bullied.
...like breaking the law? ;)

No Zigner, just owning a sk8board will annoy them.

They came in the sk8pk to complain about how it's noisy - not our voices, the sk8ing.

bc we're town planners.

And, dollars to donuts, the officers were responding to a caller who was complaining about the noise. The officers cannot have their peace disturbed, so it would be pointless for them to complain about noise in the skate park.

I am certainly not annoyed by kids with skateboards - heck, all my boys have had them at one time or another. What annoys most people is the attitude, the noise, and the disregard for others often exhibited by many (not all) skaters. And the actions of those skaters with a 'tude taint the public impression of all of them.

A proper attitude can propel one a long way in life. More of the diehard skaters should learn that.

They've never said they were responding to a call so who knows.

I started playing around with boards when i was about 7. Did i have some 'tude' then? No.
People treat sk8ers all the same way. So sorry for doing the same. Meanwhile the football playin roids all over the country are getting girls drunk and taking advantage of them. I'm sorry that me using a rail in a sk8pk annoyed 'you'.

And I'm sorry the kid riding a skateboard down the middle Garnet Ave towards the beach took a header and stopped a traffic for a couple minutes. Those are 5 minutes of my life I'm not getting back because some idiot punk on a skateboard:
a) Couldn't ride without disrupting vehicle traffic
b) Couldn't ride SAFELY.

Your using a rail in a skate park did not annoy "me." I wasn't there. Now, skaters using a rail in front of a business, or on the bleachers at a school, or on the beach amphitheater, THOSE annoy me because they do damage to property that is not their own. And grinding on curbs and retaining walls cost the city I used to work in thousands of dollars in repairs each year.

The police did not make skaters the number one problem as indicated by downtown businesses and residences in the community where I used to work. They did that to themselves.

As I said, there is a psychology of rebellion at work here, so I understand it. Unfortunately, too many skaters don't outgrow that stage and they end up becoming police problems (and social service problems) well into adulthood. Not all, certainly, but enough so that it is hardly a surprise to find that it happens.

Oh now I'm rebelling bc I enjoying learning new tricks. Riiiiiiiight.
I get on wth my parents and teachers and all that.

There's a lot of adult angst in this thread. Does it really suck this much to be an adult?

You seem to be rebelling for no particular reason but you are expressing that rebellion by acting very immature and egocentric

While you ask if it sucks to be an adult, you are the one unhappy with your situation. Maybe you should grow up a bit and look at the situation from a perspective other than what a skater boi sees.
