I have terabytes of personal media, and while I did download some priority stuff, I don't have a lot of storage space on the laptop I'm using to download everything. I would essentially be downloading, viewing then deleting which is annoying as the whole setup is glitchy and imperfect. Why do you need to "stream" your information through your home network?
It might be smarter to ask the court to order her to release the hardware to you.I have terabytes of personal media, and while I did download some priority stuff, I don't have a lot of storage space on the laptop I'm using to download everything. I'm going to ask our mutual 3rd party to ask again for my computer stuff, see what happens.
Indeed, that is my back up plan if asking politely through the 3rd party a second time doesn't work, but since our next court date is months away, I think the only "quick" solution is a family lawyer. Depressing to think you can so easily ruin a person's life with one false accusation, thereby making a person suffer for 3-4months minimum, but 12months in all likelihood. It might be smarter to ask the court to order her to release the hardware to you.
Having a lawyer would be the smart solution, too.... I think the only "quick" solution is a family lawyer. Depressing to think you can so easily ruin a person's life with one false accusation, thereby making a person suffer for 3-4months minimum, but 12months in all likelihood.
Yes, I'm still searching for a cheaper option than my current lawyer who wants $5k on the family side. He replied today to my request for clarification on indirect contact and said it's more to do with information being relayed to the related party through a third party. Guess I took that definition too literally. He also made a comment that, if I'm reading between the lines correctly, echoes the same warning mentioned above.Having a lawyer would be the smart solution, too.
You were smart to uninstall the camera app. There is no sense in giving your wife (additional) ammunition to use against you.Yes, I'm still searching for a cheaper option than my current lawyer who wants $5k on the family side. Never thought my doorbell camera app could be misconstrued as harassment, hence why I've since uninstalled it. Guess we'll see what happens in the new year as the damage has already been done.
Asking through a 3rd party is likely a VIOLATION of the restraining order.Indeed, that is my back up plan if asking politely through the 3rd party a second time doesn't work, but since our next court date is months away, I think the only "quick" solution is a family lawyer. That likely would be “indirect contact.”Asking through a 3rd party is likely a VIOLATION of the restraining order.
Also, you are posting an a legal advice site. Your feelings about legal terms don't matter.
Asking through a 3rd party is likely a VIOLATION of the restraining order.
I suppose that's my fault, I forgot to include MUTUALLY AGREED UPON when I said 3rd party, but I did mention that part earlier. Everything is on the up and up, as outlined in the terms of the order. You should all stop assuming the worst and just ask for clarification, or at the very least read the thread. Just wow. Thanks for all the responses folks, don't think many were non-negative in nature, good job painting everyone in my situation with the same brush. Pretty disappointing to see from a site claiming to offer free advice. Ever heard the term "keyboard warrior"? Seems like a lot of those here. That likely would be “indirect contact.”
Number 1, no one here was trying to judge you. We were all explaining to you how your behavior and questions appeared and were trying to give you advice as to how to protect yourself. They are life coaches that have been proven right more often than not in my experience, hence why I jokingly called them psychics. But given that all my family and even my lawyer was telling me to go on the offensive when I wanted to take the high road, I looked to other people that were indifferent, had potential insight and had a calmer demeanour. If everyone was jumping off a bridge, would you follow them? There's no harm, aside from a minimal financial impact for me, to consulting with others, and there's no harm again to not going on the offensive when the truth is on my side. If you aren't assuming the worst of me, are you suggesting I go on the offensive too? Because it's never going to happen, at least not until I at least try patience and compassion first.
Lol, I've already uninstalled the app, but my point was, the "blinky lights" from my streaming would still be there to "convince" my spouse I hadn't uninstalled it, so it's all for nothing in the end. Again, the situation comes down to my word against my spouse's. So my options are wait 4-months (total) before I can potentially get this dropped, pay money I don't have for a family lawyer which will no doubt take months, tarnish my reputation further with the police escort, or stream my data now to help from being so depressed at this ridiculous situation.
A few posts did explain, but I think you should read over the thread because that's not what a majority were doing.Number 1, no one here was trying to judge you. We were all explaining to you how your behavior and questions appeared and were trying to give you advice as to how to protect yourself.
Maybe I didn't explain myself enough, didn't realise I would have to go in depth. If you look at your modem/router and have nothing connected, it's lights (commonly internet and WiFi) will be solid and maybe blink once a minute, if that. When you proceed to actually use it (such as watching YouTube for instance), those lights will flicker.Number 2, I do not tend to believe you that your device can cause "blinky lights" etc if the app/software is deleted from your device and a judge won't either. Therefore you need to be able to explain, in detail, how that is possible (without being vague at all) to the judge. Otherwise, I suggest that you do whatever is necessary to completely sever all of your devices from anything that has to do with the home your wife is living in.
See, case in point, assuming the worst. " Big red flag" because I said I uninstalled it but added an lol at the beginning because of other comments in the post I was replying to. You're taking things out of context and assuming the worst, yet once again. If I was replying to a post that simply said "uninstall the app", maybe, but there are plenty of reasons to use lol, not only " I'm lying through my teeth". Some people laugh when they're nervous, at a funeral, etc. It was suggested, in the post I was replying to, that I was "refusing to uninstall the app", which is completely out of left field. I never said that, I was pointing out it wouldn't change anything in terms of the data/traffic lights on the modem/router. I was laughing because it was ridiculous to suggest that, especially since what I said is in writing for all to see and re-read. Broken telephone is one thing, but what that post did is completely change what I said.Stop saying things like "Lol, I've already uninstalled the app". That is a big red flag that you are lying through your teeth. You may not be, but that doesn't change the fact that it's a red flag.
I have obeyed the order to a tee, and I am hoping the judge sees that, despite the fact that the order is based off of false allegations. What I was originally asking, the whole point of this thread, was can me having access to the external camera be seen negatively by a judge and affect the order. How many posts addressed that question directly, maybe 1/10th, if that. Does it violate any order, no, but can it be misconstrued as harassment/stalking, perhaps, yes. Simple, to the point, unbias advice. Maybe the site name shouldn't FreeAdvice, but FreeBiasAdvice. More accurate that way...... and you behave like a humble gentleman and obey the orders to a tee, the judge will see it for what it is and rule accordingly. If you act like you are looking for loopholes, be vague, let your ego get in your way, act like a control freak, etc., then the judge will hand you your backside, whether you actually deserve it or not.
Be smart.
I'm sorry that you feel you this site did not provide you with valuable information. Feel free to ask for a refund on your way out - the refund request forms are on a shelf behind the third door to the left.<annoying whine>
Your comments are typical of the "shoot the messenger" types who come here looking to be patted on the head and told "Don't worry, you're doing everything right."Maybe the site name shouldn't FreeAdvice, but FreeBiasAdvice. More accurate that way.
Once again, no one is assuming the worst. We are pointing out how it looks/can look. If you are unaware of how it looks/can look, you won't protect yourself as well as you should. You actually received very excellent advice here. It just wasn't what you wanted to hear. That is your ego getting in the way.A few posts did explain, but I think you should read over the thread because that's not what a majority were doing.

What I was saying before, she is incorrectly assuming I ONLY have access through the app, so if those lights go off, I'm creeping. If however I have access to my server, the lights will react in the same way when I access any media. It's all data, so the app being installed has no bearing.
