At first, I thought, maybe, a requirement to be married for the benefit might discriminate against a sexual orientation issue. But, it's New Hampshire! Sexual orientation is not a hindrance to being married.

According to how OP worded his original post, the employees don't even have to be married, they just have to be living in the same household. So 2 siblings or even 2 roommates would get the same benefit as a married couple - making an (illegal) discrimination claim even MORE impossible.

Perhaps OP just needs to become roommates with another employee to get a better house.
