My take on the original post was different than everyone else's. My take was that the OP felt that the school did not have proper accomodations for disabled students...and that he thought it was terrible that blind people HAD to use the stairs to get anywhere. Not that blind people shouldn't be in stairwells, but that they shouldn't HAVE to be in stairwells.
Correct!
Let me start off by saying my complaints don’t really have anything to do with the speed of the elevators. I mean of course I wish they faster and that you didn’t have to ride packed like sheep nor do I wish to ride with the school's freight, but that’s life right? Just like last night I had a beautifully and eloquent written post all ready, but bam! Some kind of glitch occurred. I think it was on my end and not the site’s fault. PS my disability isn't technically temporary and sorry screen names are especially hard to remember and IDK who said what. oops
Anyways I’ve been doing a lot of thinking and I agree that they can’t add anymore elevators because of the cost etc. However, they could do small things like only moving freight, space hoggers , and huge file carts at night, when classes aren’t in session.
However here’s my biggest compliant, drum roll please: Why does it take them sometimes as long as a week to fix an essential elevator? I know the school is under major construction, but that’s no excuse. I also realize that to the best of my knowledge this is not breaking any laws. Am I correct?
Now that’s cleared up, that I’m not that petty to go through the trouble of starting a thread over waiting a little for an elevator, so what’s a college student supposed to do? I’m assuming the worst of course for a person like me who obviously isn’t a people person nor can I get my point across. So, things like formal complaints to everyone you could imagine in the world, petitions, rallies etc. are all that can be done?
Thanks for all the brutally honest replies
And of course thanks to the person who gave me the pop up window for disabled college students. I don’t know how the web works or if everyone got it , but it was much appreciated. Thumbs up Dude or Dudette
