If the medicine expired in 2011,meaning there was a prescription in 2010 and 2011, then how could the prescription not exist prior to court?

Is your son in therapy? I find it odd that a doctor has prescribed medications for anxiety due to what you claim is a specific event, but no one has addressed the therapy that may be needed for the child to deal with this event.

Because my ex didn't try for visitation till NOV of 2011... hes trying to say that I lied in court when i said that he was recently put on these meds, which is true halfly... he was prescribed these meds in 2010, it was a time my ex would briefly see my son so my son was confused and put on these meds... but recently that we went to court, the DR asked if he still had the meds i said yes he said ok continue giving them to your son because his syymptoms started again that he had to visit his father. It says discard -SEPT 2011 and he's trying to get custody on child neglect and abuse

A half truth is a lie. Plain and simple. I hope he gets custody based on your stupidity, alienation, interference and various other things that I can't write. Please marry spinner and go live life happily together. The two of you deserve one another.

"Dr said it's fine because due to going back with his father he needs these meds"

I'd be willing to bet almost anything this statement was not made by a mental health professional.

ok maybe instead of the rude remarks you will read exactly what i posted. my son is on 2 meds. his family doctor prescribed the promethazine! this is the medication that my ex is so worried about because of the discard date.

the other med was given by his counselor. that med is still good

How about paying more attention to your child and his medications expiring than entertaining yourself on these threads?

You are an idiot. Plain and simple. You do NOT give a child (or anyone for that matter) expired medication. If it has a discard date, you discard it by that date. And I can guarantee no doctor will testify in court to telling you to give a child expired anxiety or depression medication. They would lose their license quicker than you could blink.

I truly hope Dad gets custody and you get supervised visitation. YOU are detrimental to the wellbeing of your son.

Ok... done feeding the troll now

It should probably be said that promethazine is not an anti-depressant. It's an antihistamine and it's commonly used to treat nausea. The other drug, citalopram, commonly causes nausea. That's probably why the kid was prescribed the promethazine.

Although it might lose its efficacy after a period of time, I doubt taking promethazine past its recommended date will cause any harm.

Counselors don't write prescriptions and if she'd really asked the doctor about the expired medication, he would have said throw it out, I'll call a new script into your pharmacy now, you can pick it up before he has to go to dad's.

The medication for anxiety is promethazine, it expired in 2011 but the Dr said it's fine because due to going back with his father he needs these meds. My ex i trying to say that this was prescribed to him prior to us going to court. The other drug for depression is citalopram. My son is 7 years old. That one hasn't expired though just the promethazine.
Promethazine? for anxiety in a 7 y/o?
That is the generic of Phenergan...and it is incredibly sedating. Wow...bit of overkill.

Seriously - read her post hx.

The OP is either a regular troll with a different screen-name (hopefully - and I tend to think most likely), or an example of one of the worst parents we've ever had post here.

I - largely because of the whole "eternal optimist" thing - honestly hope it's the former.
