Right, and it doesn't need to happen until after she gets emergency, temporary custody. It would be part of the process in getting more permanent custody. The courts will give grandma temporary, emergency custody if both parents are MIA, and sort out the permanent arrangements after.

Come on OG, you know that a judge isn't going to leave a child hanging in the wind when both parents are MIA. Yes, she will have to serve dad before anything final will happen, but a judge can make temporary, emergency orders in the meantime. Grandma has no idea where dad is, it could take a long time to find him.
