im telling you i have over 10 yrs in the wireless industry, people have a heart attack if they dont have their cell phone when they walk out the door. i've watched the industry change everything so much its crazy....i also used to sell pagers and beepers...lol...
I never realized how much my cell meant to me until the battery died while my GF was trying on clothes last week. I about went out of my mind while I was on purse duty. That is a long ways from when I had my 1st cell (bag phone) in college. I have the Palm Pre Plus and I love it. I am officially hooked on my phone even though it does have a few little things I don't like.

My favorite feature is a toss up between the Pandora Radio and Youtube apps. Its nice having music always at my finger tips. And my girls love driving around in my truck and watching music videos from Youtube on my phone. I just search for what they want and hang it up so they can see the video. I have a FM transmitter for the sound to come through the truck's speakers. The sound isn't as good as a direct audio cable, but it'll work until I get another stereo. Right now the girls are hooked on Weird Al Yankovic videos. I can recite "The Day Santa Went Crazy" in my sleep. Oh well, it could be worse. They could be asking for Jonas Brothers, LOL.

Sorry, I can't live without my cell, but I'm a little bit of an electronics junkie. I've been a dedicated Palm user for years (refuse to ever touch a Blackberry), satellite radio in the car, all the gadgets and gizmos just to play with them.... Shoot, I've had 3 bluetooths in the last year just because I keep tinkering with the ones with new features.

My phone is like my lifeline.

I must be just completely socially inept and antisocial to boot :D

I do suffer (as some of you know) from chronic shyness at the best of times; additionally my cell phone is currently out of minutes (and power now I think about it, and I can't find the sodding power jack), but has become more useful as an incense burner.

Nag Champa fits absolutely perfectly between the little spaces between the keys.

Ahhh, but just think...

If you could find the power jack and your phone has the capability to store music files, you could burn your incense and listen to some really nice, relaxing mood music at the same time!

Gotta' think of all the possibilities, Girl!!!! :p

I have my laptop ;)

(Honestly, my cell phone cost $15, and it has the capacity to send and receive calls and txts..that's it. I'm serious. Granted it takes me about five minutes to send a one-liner to someone but hey... :D)

Liandra, I'm pretty sure I'm older than you...

And I still HAVE a VCR. Refuse to give it up while I still have tapes that will play. ;)

I spend SO MUCH time in my car (to the tune of around 25000 miles/year) that if I didn't have my cell phone, I'd never talk to anyone. My Mom used to give me the standard "don't call me while you're driving unless it's an emergency!!!" lecture. Until she stopped hearing from me altogether because once I'm home with the kids, I'm generally NOT on the phone.

I have my phone set up so it doesn't even ring unless the person calling is in my contacts list, and I only answer the home phone if 1) I know who it is and 2) I feel like talking to them.

Drives D'man crazy when I just hit "silent" on the phone and let it go to voicemail regardless of who it is - or whether or not I know who it is. The only people I answer EVERY TIME for are my kids and my Mom.

I have the Tmobile "My Faves" plan. So w/3 phones, we have 15 numbers we can call anytime w/out using minutes. AND I have 1000 anytime minutes to use. AND free nights and weekends. AND unlimited texting. AND free Tmo to Tmo calls.

Last month, I used about 35 "anytime" minutes and more than 4000 minutes of "My Faves"/weekend/nights time.

I don't have a "house" phone. We're wireless, and happy! My phone will ring regardless of who's calling, but I don't answer unless it's someone in my contact list. And even then sometimes don't.

I HAVE to have a house phone. I live in the Boonies. Yes, with a capital B. I CAN get DSL, because I live 2 houses down from the phone company building thingie. If I lived more than a mile away? I couldn't even get that.

BUT, in order to get DSL from Sprint/Embarq, I HAVE to have a home phone. I'd happily not actually have a phone hooked up to the line and CERTAINLY would disable the voice mail, but the reception for Wild's phone has always been spotty in the house and I can't leave them alone and just cross my fingers that her cell works when she needs to call 911.

Of course... the fire station IS across the street...

I am a bit of a computer geek ... in fact, probably a bit more than a bit.

Anyway, there are a couple of suggestions I have.

one, keep the old Nokia for trips to Dad's house. have your daughter swap out the SIM card from the new to the old phone when she leaves and back when she comes back. That way, the phone doesn't wander off.

Two, I am VERY excited by the new Dell Lightning...but I am a WinMo guy.
