I should have known the advice on this forum would be worth exactly what I paid for it.

Another site that has contributors with actual law experience has informed me that I do have leverage against Sears (IF I need it). It's not implied warranty, it's more simple than that; they breached their contract to supply what was purchased, and that contract lasts 6 years before expiry. Seeing as they have a record of the sale it's unlikely that they try to force us to find the receipt, as if it did go to court they could be forced in fact to accept their own records as the proof that they want.

Anyway. This wasn't about a court case, I just wanted some knowledge under my belt just in case the manager fights against it when he calls me on Sunday.

As for the taking photos, not that I need to justify it, I just took a couple to send to my father in law. There's really no need for you all to be so rude, but I do appreciate the serious advice that was given.

So, you wasted our time then. Nice.

I'm glad the other site was able to tell you what you wanted to hear, regardless of the accuracy.

Let us examine the credibility of your statement. Every table saw comes boxed with parts packaged in a manner to minimize box size, yet safely transport the item without damage. The odds that an incorrect fence and rails would fit in such a box are very low. Then we can add that a Google search reveals no others Sears table saw threads where the wrong fence and rails were shipped, which should easily cover the last ten years of saw sales. We add in the odds you waited 2 years to open the box and just happened to video the box being opened and the wrong rails and fence being present.

I saw a movie earlier on TCM where 2 guys in the 1800's built a spaceship that was steam powered and flew it to the moon where they firmly planted the Union Jack flag on its surface. I would say the odds of both happening in reality are very, very, close.

Artistic license in the movies. It was actually on Mars. They drive the rovers around it so England can't see the flag and lay a claim to Mars that predates the UN treaty.

TD

Yes, that was humor.
