Wow, I can emancipate myself, I guess when your properly emancipated they give you your adultery papers, is that how that one works?

I can be tried for many different scenarios can I not and they call it an adult trial hmmm, weird huh?

I curse a bit and the world falls against me. (*self note* remember advice from freeadvice is no advice more like name calling, potty mouth.. anger its a common thing.)

You have zero chance of being emancipated. Zero.

And uh..."adultery papers"....I'm pretty sure you didn't mean to write that...

a·dul·ter·y (ə-dŭl'tə-rē, -trē)
Home > Library > Literature & Language > Dictionary

n., pl., -ies.

Well, honestly the way you have assessed this problem, is more or less worse than if you would have spoken nicely.

I heard a person came to the same school I am in over the limit drunk(homecoming on a Saturday actually) and he got suspended for 2 days.

Hmm, that pretty much says I can curse and be over my BAL and get four days and us as a community strive to protect the generation from evil bahaha, thats sickening huh?

Its High School every other word out of a person mouth is derogatory

I knew exactly what I was writing, I wrote that because oh the humor, adultery, I just read the crucible.. I know what adultery is trust me. Ignorance is bliss.

Not entirely sure what your point is here, kiddo.

Your legal question has been answered; you have no legal recourse against the school if the school does suspend you.

Okay? Now, this isn't a discussion forum. There are dozens - nay hundreds - of forums out there where you can sit and go back and forth about how wrong or right or unfair it is, but that's not what this forum is about.

If you have another legal question, go ahead and ask. If not, it's time to close the thread.

Look, this is the first time I have ever got into trouble, its very different being in trouble. I am not a trouble maker nor a trouble taker I mind my own business I am one of the more respected people by the staff ex. Teachers, Administration. Is that really my destiny im a piggy for being angry once? I mean, I do not know when you went to school but a lot more was lenient, things could be said and easily gotten away with.

i am asking for help what should I do... say the accusations are valid and I did call her the bee word?

You also had Catholic schools though.

Im extremely scared, this is not me.. at all :-(

SchoolTools, you may wish to Google the following Supreme Court case:

Bethel School District No 403 v Fraser, 478 US 675 (1986).

The Court said: "It is a highly appropriate function of public school education to prohibit the use of vulgar and offensive terms in public discourse."

There have always been limits placed on speech. In school, the restrictions on speech can be greater.

There is a pretty good website that covers pretty thoroughly the First Amendment rights of students. This site will not only answer all of your questions on what rights you actually do have as a student, but it gives you the Supreme Court decisions that helped to solidify these rights.

You should check it out.

Thank you for that! I appreciate it, now it says fighting words. Inflicting hatred upon someone that is fighting words.. violent words, it says it can change either way due to the context or the word itself.

Yup. What words are used, how the words are used and where the words are used matter.

It is important to note, however, that this country has always had an issue with profane and vulgar language - no matter the where or how or whether the words are directed at another individual or not.

In fact, there are still states that have laws that make it a crime to use indecent, profane and blaphemous language. And some cities in some states issue tickets to those who swear in public.*

So it is not just your school that thinks your language was inappropriate. ;)

I think your best course of action, since you don't have a legal one to consider or pursue, is to write letters of apology to all involved. Don't try to excuse what you said - just admit you were wrong to say it and that you are sorry. Apologies go a long way to soothing angry feelings (and they may help you escape suspension).

Good luck, SchoolTools.

**Although the laws still exist, people are rarely prosecuted under them today, and the tickets when issued tend to be small ($1 to $5).

I think this advice was the best I have seen here.

When I taught in public school, and went on to work as an Assistant Principal, I saw a lot of students not realizing the affect of their words. Just calling someone a name is one thing - and be it that vulgar language is probably in your student handbook, there should be a ramification that goes along with vulgar language. Maybe a suspension, maybe a detention. If you had made a threat along with the vulgar language, like "I'm gonna punch the effing bee" then you would be in considerably more trouble. Making a threat is much worse than off-handed cursing.

Write the letter. Heck - I'll write it for you.

Dear Administration,

I just want to sincerely apologize for my behavior lately. I am very stressed due to my cousin losing her baby, and it has devastated me. I'm so anxious, and I'm saying things I shouldn't. Though I realize there may be a punishment for this, I would like to be in school so I can pass. I want to make it to college. I want to graduate! Please, can you make my punishment after school so Saturday, so I can stay in class? I promise to settle down, and I will be the model student until the end of the year. I will go to the Guidance Counselors and get some advice on how to deal with my difficult, emotional time - but I won't take it out on the hall monitors or anyone else.

Thanks
Cusser Student.

Hopefully, that will make things better for you.

And, do all the things I listed in the letter.

Good luck!

I bet they didn't realize the effect of them, either... ;)

Dang it. And I looked at that word too, when I typed it. Like advise and advice. Arg.
Hehehehehe Lots of people do it. Just remember - effect (advice) is usually a noun, affect (advise) is usually a verb.

- stealth. Keeping America safe, one grammatical error at a time.
