I would like to thank everyone for there advice, input, and help.
I would just like to point out that I KNOW the majority of the marine corps is not like the image I have painted. I know how it is in one company, one duty-station. That hardly makes me an expert on the corps overall. However, the bad taste that was put in my mouth is one which im not sure will ever be able to be completley get rid of.
Alot of marines probably never experience anything like I have, and alot have probably experienced much worse.
Thank you again for all of your help. Most my questions have been awnsered and I Know much more than I did before I posted.
I will be sure to update my situation as I can for those who wish to know.
Thank you.
Maybe it just wasn't what you expected it to be. There is always three sides to a story.

Not everyone is cut out to be in the service, much less, the MARINES. Best of luck and I hope you can move on in life after you do what is required.

It has been a long time since I was in the Corps. It saddens me deeply to see what it has become. This was not the Marine Corps of my era. This war as brought out the absolute worst in today's Marines.

Talk to your chaplain when you get back.

Good luck

You are clearly an angel, Shorty, and I think highly of you. However, respectfully :), I must disagree. As you know, I have a son in the Marines and a son that recently completed his service in the Navy. Neither man would act in such a fashion, and neither man would countenance such from others.

So it IS still similar to your day, Shorty. Just depends on where you are and who you're with, like anyplace else. :)
Silverplum, respectfully, you are one of my very special doves:) and I too respect you to the highest level. When your husband was in the Corps,
we went to boot camp for 12 weeks, then to ITR, and then to BST for our MOS. From there, we could take our 30 day leave or report to our assigned
duty stations. There were a few exceptions, because some had received WestPak Orders which you went to stagging, then Via Vietnam.
My best to you, and your Marines/Navy family, and Silverplum please hesitate not if I can ever help in anyway.
Very sincerely, and respectfully yours, Shorty:)

I do not for one second condom any break in ranks [UA/DESERTER] of our Marines, and other Armed Service Branches members; if anything,
I condemn them all to hell less 0001% for extraordinary reasons. However, given the resources that are made available to our Armed Forces
Personal, there should not be any sound reason whatsoever to break ranks!

Moreover, I agree 100% with you Silverplum, and Cyberspook!

TrissTan, I had a meeting today with an active duty Marine. Here is what I had learned:

(1) Embassy Duty, you must be at least an E-3 and stationed for 18 months or more at the same duty station. From there, you test, etc.

(2) You will have to go back to your duty station you left from, and this was stressed, the longer you are gone the deeper you own yourself
(less your roommate's WRONG advice) will cause harsher consequences.

(3) Here are two numbers that are 24/7. You call to inform the other end that you are UA and want to return. They will cut you
special Orders, provide you with a Plane Ticket etc. This is also includes Deserter which I PRAY that you will not let happen.
1-703-614-3248; 614-2934.

(4) Lastly, for one who excelled as you did including being ragged at especially in boot camp, and now you have done this, I am
personally very unhappy with you. You can still salvage your time with the Corps, which is entirely up to you; and I hope you do
man up because you do not want a lifetime STIGMA upon you. College Degrees, and other Countries will not cover this up.
You see, it will be imposed for life; and sooner or later your own conscious will eat you like Cancer. Shorty Out.

P.S. MARINE, STRONGLY SUGGEST THAT YOU GET YOUR HEAD & HEART WIRED TOGETHER!

I read these last few replies regarding my situation and thought it best to give a response.

I think about going back everyday. However, I KNOW as a person, that I would only be a disservice if I went back to the SAME company. I did have a stellar record, this IS my only black spot. If the Corps weigh the good with the bad, and refuse to ATLEAST put me in a diffrent company, I will do whatever is neccessary to be discharged.
For you see, I NEVER had a problem with the hazing and mistreatment I received the time I was in the corps. NEVER did I complain to anyone but my fellow marines.
It was NOT UNTIL I was singled out, ostrichsized, and humilated and herassed on a DAILY basis FAR beyond ANYTHING my fellow boots recieved, that I decided in my current course of action.

I want to fulfill my oath, and obligation to my country. HOWEVER, if I was to go back to the same company, Me, as a person, feel it would be only a matter of time before the violent thoughts in my head, came to be reality.
You can only take so much, each person is diffrent in the amount they can take, before they are pushed into actions that they normally would never do, or think of doing.
There was two days, that I remember thinking "let this muther****er **** with me one more time and I will beat his face in until I feel the ground beneath."
Thank god that on each of those days, with me being so close to violence, I managed to get away and be left alone long enough to do what I needed to do to wake up the next day and continue on.
I refuse to be under that same command. I refuse. Thats simply all there is to it.

Response from MARSOC RSAS

I recently e-mailed the Marine Corps in regards to this thread about a month ago. This is the response I got regarding this young man Trisstan (the OP). Take it for what it's worth.

The legal advice involved here I believe is for a Marine to understand when to go to his/her command and when not.

I wish things like this didn't happen but unfortunately it does from time to
time. I'm not trying to defend these Marines supposed actions, but having
known Marines who have been killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, I can see how
there were a lot of Marines in that unit who would be more then a little
upset over what this young man may or may not have said. Combine that with
getting promoted to an equal rank of proven warriors after just arriving at
a recently returned unit although no fault of his own, didn't help and I'm
sure there were some irritated Marines over this. All things combined added
up to a bad situation for this young man. I could write for days on this
subject but I'll leave it at this; In the average Marines mind there is a
fine line between going to your command and not going to your command for
help. In this case he made a poor decision and should have gone to his
command and brought this situation to light. I doubt his seniors (PltSgt,
Pltcmdr, 1stSgt) made any comments to him about hurting him if they weren't
so senior. We as senior leadership look at things objectively when it comes
to leading our Marines. We would not have the kid already found guilty
before bringing all involved together and getting the whole story. This type
of situation is terrible for a units morale and combat effectiveness. It
would not only be in the Marines best interest but also the units to squash
something like that as soon as possible. You know the old saying "There's
your side of the story, there's my side of the story, and the truth lies
somewhere in between" So with that said, I'd say sure, it happens, but to
the degree that this young man states his senior leadership acted, no, I
don't think it does.

Please read this thread. Is this true? Is it true that Marines are
behaving this badly?
