I haven't read the exact law in North Carolina, or in New York, but I expect it's substantially the same as my state...

Impersonating or misrepresenting oneself as a Police Officer is a FELONY.

This thread has certainly veered off course the past couple days. Perhaps it's time it was shut down before anyone gets real nasty.
