Well, I am reading something now that says I am legally the father. If there is a reason I'm wrong, please tell me. But, now you are entering into territory I do know, I HAVE been a father for 4 years, and I CAN tell you that it is very possible to afford to raise a child and not be able to afford an attorney. Attorneys are expensive, raising a child is actually not all that expensive.
o.k. here is what I want to know that you never answered. She comes home. You tell her that if she doesn't agree to move with you to Madison you'll file for custody. She tells you to "BITE ROCKS" packs up her things and the kid and tries to leave.
You block the door and stop her. She calls 911 and the police arrive.
Whom do you think will be going to jail?
Then, while that person is in jail, a custody/support petition is filed in district court of the county where you presently life. Attached to the petition is a petition for paternity. Whom do you think will be paying the $500 - 900 for that test?
Then during the hearing she files a Temporary Restraining Order against you for Illegal Detention and coresion. How much do you think that will cost you to defend.
THEN, she petitions the court for full custody and you supervised visitation. What is your first step in defending against that?
