WTH??? None of that makes sense. Makes me want to up and move from Calif so my kids don't have to visit their dad because they "choose" not to go. Every other weekend its a fight with three girls who cry etc that they don't want to visit stepmom and dad and every other weekend its me saying to them "you have to go".

I feel bad for her. Can she appeal that judgement at all????

I think a motion to reconsider might be in order... but her attorney said "I don't know if we can appeal it or not." Which leads me to believe that none of these people have dealt with a Family Access motion before.

And this is on the heels of the authorities finding the bodies of Sam and Lindsey Porter - a MO case that was not properly enforced. I told Majomom to call channel 5.

Help me help her, please.

A direction to head next would be good.

They WERE ordered to mediation, but how is THAT gonna go when Dad was basically told by the judge that he doesn't have to follow the order?

The prosecutor won't even talk to her about a FELONY charge of parental abduction. Harboring a runaway is not gonna make a blip on the radar.

A NEW damn attorney, one who actually KNOWS how to use the law to his clients' advantage, who is competent and smart...like our former Golden Goddess Attorney. Someone hellacious, who costs the Earth.

She needs a new attorney. If the attorney can't make clear to the judge how this is illegal etc... he/she isn't doing their job! Hopefully OG or someone more knowledgeable will come around and answer about KS!

What about calling the KS HiPos and asking them to enforce the Parental Kidnapping Prevention Act? I mean, the Sheriff in MO says he can't help because he doesn't have jurisdiction if the child is in KS. But SOMEONE has to enforce this, yes? So far, everyone is saying it's someone else's problem.

And... kiddo is almost 17... if the fight lasts much longer, it won't even matter.

I would absolutely try any avenue...but the Badass Attorney is really #1 priority, and APPEALING is co-#1.

Yes, she should call KS, MO, and freaking Washington, DC. Oh! I just remembered a thing she could do -- call ALL of her senators and reps, state AND national level. My FIL is great at using his senators/reps to move mountains.

Tell majomom to CAMP OUT at the Governor's office. To MOVE INTO his actual waiting area, and REFUSE to leave until she is heard. Be a really, really aggressive MOM.

Dad sucks, but judge should ENFORCE THE FARGING LAWS!!!
The court/judge that has jurisdiction has ruled.

I'm not sure what else to do that can be done quickly, but would probably stay in the courthouse and hunt down the department head or whatever their equivalent of the boss over the judges is called there.
