Mom Refused to have Daughter Treated

as a dad, I can understand OP's position though. Mom had shown a lack of good judgement before and has shown to be secretive involving the children (the boyfriend thing) so when I heard blisters,I doubt I would go to the ER but I would have been on the phone with a doctor.

an ER is designed to deal with emrgency situations and unless there was a concern of this being the result of an injury (showers by herself, hot water, burns but I would think that an injury such as that would have resulted in screams that alerted mom) and not an illness unless there were signs of distress in other areas (breathing, consiousness, etc.) I would think a Dr.'s office appointment would be the proper and reasonable action. Most Dr.'s do have urgent appointments avaiable so she most likely could have been seen the next day or 2 at most.

If you do not have a close realtionship with this youngsters ped, make it so so you can call when such situations arise and can expect some reasonable direction from them.
It's funny you mention that. I have a friend who is an EMT who complains about her sister who uses the ER like its a doc office, and I was sittign there listening to her vent one day about it, and how patients in her area (which actually is the same city my ex lives in) do that as well. I was sitting there agreeing with her about it all...and here I am.

I was panicked in that situation and my wits fell out. I see all of your points, and I really appreciate the help. Thanks folks!

We've got these complicated bodies :p, but I would also caution you to pay attention to the soap she's using to bathe, don't let her wear panties right out of the package (wash first) and watch her diet (sodas, etc.). UTI's are not comfortable. If she likes yogart, feed her some.
I'm sooo glad I'm a man! I started bathing her with the johnson's baby wash after I brought her home from the doc. We were using the Bath and Body Pear Blossom....mainly because that's what I use when I pamper myself while gettign in touch with my feminine side. Oh...orignal scent Dove, the greatest! You women are so lucky with all the goodies ya'll have! The little puffs (loofas sp?) I'm so envious.

My daughter just about will eat anything, as long as it has a hint of flavor! I love her so much, cause Daddy can't cook anything bad when it comes to her! My fiancee disapproves, but hey, I wasn't a chef when she met me eh!

PS: The Bath and Body Peppermint wash/shampoo thing all in one...perfect after a long day. Feels great soaking in the tub.

There are some perks to being a woman... Bath and Body Works loves us, but my budget hates them. They've started discontinuing the classic stuff and I'm a little peeved at them, but I guess I'll get over it.

I'm not big on regular baths with the BBW stuff on the little ones... that's MY personal opinion only - and if you can believe this, my pediatrician was dead set against the Johnson's stuff for my little kiddo. He has exzema and it is drying on the skin. Now the Dove products????? Oh man... I love them (so does he). Aveeno makes a great line too.

Oh... and Softsoap makes a great line of mens bodywashes... check them out!

I want to emphasize the yogurt part.....it has cultures in it that actually and seriously help with yeast infections. It gets rid of alot of the discomfort associated with them...so seriously, feed her yogurt.

The same thing happened to my now thirteen year old when she was little. She ended up having a couple of UTI's even though I was following the soap etc. advice. Her doctor finally suggested my daughter take showers rather than tub baths. Worked like a charm, and we never had another problem!
(For the sake of modesty, I would put on my swim suit and get into the shower with her since she was too young to take a shower all by herself).

I want to add something that I know from experience. Girls should never have bubble baths or take baths in scented soaps as that is bad for them. Also, when washing the private area should only be cleaned with warm water, NO SOAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The private area on a female is a natural cleaning itself oven and doesn't need any soaps down there to clean. I have a serious female condition caused by using soaps in that area. That area is full of nerves and when washed and scrubbed the nerves can be exposed and damaged or hurt causing severe pain. It usually takes years worth of cleaning yourself wrong down there. IN my case it took 35 years but I'm paying for it and live with neuropathy in the private area. And there is nothing funny about it.

The best way to prevent yeast infections, UTI's, etc...is by using nothing in the private area but warm water to clean in the shower and the best thing to do when broken out in a yeast infection or UTI is to treat it quickly as yeast infections over and over can also cause neuropathy later in life. Every time I take an antibiotic for any type of infection I take a diflucan at the same time to avoid any yeast infections that could come along with it. Women need to avoid yeast infections or any other type of vaginal infections, diseases cause they have no idea what could happen to them.

So wait a minute.

You're pissed because Mom didn't take the child to the ER on the 24th because you felt the child should have been seen IMMEDIATELY.

Yet, when you picked the child up the next day, and upon inspection noticed bumps, you thought "Yeah, it can wait til tomorrow afternoon"

How does that work, exactly?

Other tips:

No panties when sleeping. Let the body breathe.
Make sure she's wiping front to back.
No brown colored soda.
No caffiene.
As little processed sugar as possible.
No MSG.

Plenty of water.
Lots of cranberry juice or cranberry tea (NOT juice '****tail').
Get her into the habit of going potty every two hours and making sure she's emptied her bladder completely.

Better he hear about them NOW than later.

In the entire 9+ years of mine and SH's marriage, he never ONCE purchased a feminine product. And if we were at the store and I needed the products, he'd make me buy them separately.

I shudder to think what'll happen if one of the girls needs something when they're with him.

What a wuss.

When our first child was born and my wife was coming home, I was told to go get some feminine napkins (for some reason, calling them napkins just seems wrong), so, off to the store and grab this huge jumbo mega package and toss them on the counter.

No big deal.
