You do them no favors by not preparing them for life by letting them fall at times. Your job is to pick them up after they do. What you can expect is he will stop complying with whatever consideration you get in the mysterious agreement. If there are penalties outlined, expect those also. Do you think you are unique in having known a man that tries to be loving but explodes when he feels he has a reason? Guess what, the country is full of them. They however, hopefully, get to see their kids when they wish.
