It takes two. So, 24 involved. Or at least 13.Depends on the size of the school. I know people who had more than 1000 people in their graduating class, 12 is a small percentage.

Agreed - that's what made it so shocking.Yes, math is awesome.
That's why I wrote "area." It's still a couple of dozen morons in a small area: that's too many.
Alrighty then. You guys spend so much time bashing teenagers that I think you've forgotten that we're humans too. We're not as simple as "alcohol=fun"
alcohol+dirtbikes+baseball+camping+atvs+jobsandmoney+girls+football+rivers+mountains+sunriseseventhoughitshard+pizza+bonfires+hangingout+iforgotsomestuff=fun
Not all at the same time. You can't play baseball and ride an atv at the same time. We've tried.
It's not like teens are all drinking all the time. You also seem to think that all teens who drink, drink excessively. That's not true.
So you're saying, don't fight based on principles if it's inconvenient?
Also, what I was trying to get at - when you're in school you're kind of I guess in their custody during the day/event (?), until you're back with your parents. So, there's also nothing in any book anywhere that talks about that? When that transfer happens?
Haven't some places tried that and the students organized their own proms which looked a lot like the after party Stealth keeps talking about?
Yes. But, humans lacking the common sense and wisdom that comes with age, and filled with the arrogance and self-importance that comes with youth. Understandable, but still a risk. You guys spend so much time bashing teenagers that I think you've forgotten that we're humans too.
Considering that ANY drink is generally unlawful, ANY drinking can be excessive. You also seem to think that all teens who drink, drink excessively. That's not true.
The general rule is that they are responsible from the time you head to school until you return home or to an appropriate destination afterwards. It gets dodgy whether schools possess the legal ability to enforce discipline before or after a school event unless you have signed a behavior contract, or, you are caught in violation of the law. But, as I previously mentioned, even if you are correct and the school should NOT discipline you for drinking after prom, by the time it is resolved you may have lost the opportunity to walk with your class, attend a senior trip, or even accept a certain scholarship. One moment of pleasure ...Also, what I was trying to get at - when you're in school you're kind of I guess in their custody during the day/event (?), until you're back with your parents. lol.^^^ "Epic." ^^^
... but, the work of Aesop.
Look at you go, putting your hard earned wisdom and common sense that us teenagers don't have, to label an entire group of people, many of whom aren't in fact arrogant or self-important whatsoeverYes. And you are how old?Look at you go, putting your hard earned wisdom and common sense that us teenagers don't have, to label an entire group of people, many of whom aren't in fact arrogant or self-important whatsoever
So says the braniac who claims to have been arrested at 15 after assaulting his sister while drunk.Look at you go, putting your hard earned wisdom and common sense that us teenagers don't have, to label an entire group of people, many of whom aren't in fact arrogant or self-important whatsoever
Don't you know how super awesome fantastic it makes them feel when they toss an insult or two into our fuddy-duddy winds? Ya know, that whole empowering thing. "Yeah take THAT old person!" *le sigh* kids these daysAnd you are how old?
So, you joined this site just to criticize me? Wow. Criticize away, kiddo. I think I'll stack up my decades of experience, training and education as a parent, educator, and peace officer against whatever it is you might think you possess.
Yeah but who raised us?*le sigh* kids these days
Certainly not me. Mine aren't quite so arrogant nor disrespectful.Yeah but who raised us?
And, I'll bet these "good times" included copious amounts of alcohol. That's IS crazy, and that is NOT "good times." That's a disaster waiting to happen ... number one killer of teens and all.But to be honest, there have been a whole lot of assumptions thrown around in this thread. Not all teenagers are complete idiots. Just some are. We just had a really fun prom night. Nothing crazy happened. Just good times.
Wow ... teens being deceptive, call CNN!By the way, as far as I know the principal is not looking into anything from the weekend. Nobody got busted doing anything. Nothing newsworthy. Look wow - teens can pull that off.
