I have been too scared to go up to the councilor because I have recently had depression, so any time I fill out a form, she calls my mom. I would prefer to get this handled without my mom knowing as much as I can. I know she will find out eventually but my grandparents can take care of it. My family also does have much money so summer school isn't a good option for me. It's about 100 dollars per class, per credit.
You're saying that you parents/grandparents haven't gotten report cards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd quarter? The report cards list how many absences you have.
Are there any other options? My family can't really afford summer school as of now as it is 100 dollars per credit. And I am missing 2 and a half credits. I am a good student and I learn well, however, school isn't a thing for me. I was part of a bad crowd doing bad things, which I terribly regret. But I usually get good grades. A in english, A in algebra, A in biology, C in dance, but an F in my electives, photography and Spanish. Will have I to take a summer course in photography if it was an elective? Even if I did really well on exams, tests, and finals?
Your district might not offer the courses that you took as electives in summer school. School districts try to make sure that at least core courses (those required for everyone) are offered, the rest is subject to budget and demand.
I had a sibling who would look at the 3rd quarter report card (always failing something), look at the summer school courses offered, and focus on getting at least a passing grade average in those courses not offered at summer school. So, miraculously that 4th quarter grade in Physics would be an A or B after Ds all year, even if it meant flunking Math or English.
Furthermore, your *family* shouldn't be financing summer school - you should. Get a part time job and pay for summer school yourself - take responsibility for your actions. Baby sit, mow lawns, whatever.
I also won't be able to take summer courses because I'm not in country. I go back home to my original country.
Is that because you are here on a visitor's visa, or is this a vacation?
I guess you'll just have to repeat the courses at another time - maybe next year. You might not be promoted to the next grade until you do so.
In any case, yours is not a legal question.
