      Unfortunately, you rented an apartment sight unseen. Does your lease say your unit will have a washer and dryer? What does your lease say about pest control? You signed a contract - I'd be more worried about being held to the contract than getting any money back.

      Many to most leases include some level of maintenance that would be problematic for an adult with varying levels of disability. Examples of things that leases may contain: Lawn maintenance Shoveling the driveway Replacing lightbulbs Cleaning Removing trash Changing furnace filters etc...

      Of course, the ex can ASK the court to increase the amount of alimony. Whether or not s/he is successful will depend upon how your divorce decree is written relative to alimony as well as the reasons suggested by FlyingRon.

      If the mom does not know that aunt is being investigated - how do you know? Did you or Dad report the issue to be investigated? Assuming that the current investigation results in an unfounded result, stepson's time with the Aunt should be seen as a good thing. A child benefits from more family...
