DO NOT discuss the in camera with your son except to tell him that he will be talking to someone who wants to know his HONEST thoughts. And he needs to tell the truth. Other than that, say NOTHING about it to him.
How often to the courts go with the recommendation of the GAL, especially if they recommend no contact?

GAL recommendations ARE taken quite seriously by judges. However, a recommendation for no contact is also very unusual, so I think it would be difficult to say. A local attorney would be in a better position to give you an idea of how your local courts tend to look at GAL recommendations.

Protection orders are also very unusual.

Divorce papers (2014) that do not have parenting time for the noncustodial parent are also very unusual.

A local attorney has already weighed in. I think it would be wise for @WonderingGALohio to pay more attention to that local attorney than you or me - neither of us are in Ohio, nor members of the OH bar.
