Here is what I see as your problems in relation to the house.
The house is in her name and there is a mortgage. Therefore the house cannot be put in your name unless you can refinance the mortgage into your name. You apparently have not been employed for very long and were a stay at home parent prior to that, so the odds of you being able to refinance are slim. What really should have happened is the house should have been sold and the proceeds split.
