Hey they could 5150 them harm to self or others and then their parents youd have to pay the hospital bill and there would be no liability in case there was an medical complication. That could be scarier than jail.
If only it were that easy. :)

Statistically speaking, 95% of juvenile males get caught at least once prior to reaching majority, it must be linked to that darn "Y" chromosome.
Caught for what? Do you mean caught and brought to the police station? Or simply picked up by the cops? I'd say it is significantly less than 95%. It certainly was not the case for me and the vast majority of my friends. There were a few that skewed the numbers with multiple pops, however. So, maybe if you take the aggregate numbers and spread them out over the population as a whole ...

Okay ... it's late - been at work too long. Time to go home.

Sherry, what do you want? You came here, you got an answer to your queation of "any advice?" and you defend your daughter.

You claimed, "the wrong crowd" is to blame but you say that like this is the one and only time she has hung out with the "wrong crowd". It's time to wake up. She may very well be part of the "wrong crowd". Parents never want to believe thier babies can be part of that crowd but you know what?, somebodies kids are and if you kid is hanging out with them she is one of them.

It's not like they just "run across" each other in the middle of nowhere, they hang together. What else she is doing is probably a mystery to you as well It's time to draw the line and put your foot up her,,,,I mean down and take a stand. This is real life and you don;t get do overs.

While she probably will not see any jail time or anything even close, what happens now can make it or break it for her. If she gets off with nothing, she will feel invincible. It will get worse. The short term grounding thing is a wee bit light, don't ya think??

The fact that her brother also had a problem leads one to believe it is a family propensity to have dependency problems. GET HELP NOW before it becomes any more serious.

You can't fix death, whether it is your daughters or an innocent's, you just can't fix it.

Now, not when you were an adolescent, silly! Although if you tink back to the times your frineds didn't get caught.

You are tired and should go home to a nice meal and relaxation before you ponder what lies ahead for your little angels, lol!:D

Not 95% arrested, but 95% caught by some authority figure for some "offense", it's like nose picking, 95% will admit they pic their nose, and 5% lie:D

she won't be able to get her license.
Considering she drove while drunk, was speeding and didn't know what lights to have on, she SHOULDN'T have a license for several years! For the sake of hers and others lives.

there are plenty of Catholic priests that fit this same description, that didn't stop them from molesting kids. Affluence is not a preventative.

Yes I came here for advice and I received some. Some good and some not so good. Some of you shouldn't be so judgemental. After all we all make mistakes and hopefully we all learn from them. I am very concerned about my daughter that is why I came here. And alcoholism does run im my family. It is a disease. That doesn't mean that I'm a terrible person or that my daughter is a terrible person. She used poor judgement and now she has to pay for it.

My response:

Applause, applause, Sherry! You sure are impressing the hell out of us!

As far as I'm concerned, you could use a little "judgment" in your life - - something no one, up until now, has been able to say right to your face. Alcoholism is a "choice," and I fervently believe it's not a disease. Who do you know that was born with a pint of whiskey in their mouth? Tell the person's family that you or your children kill that it's a disease. Yeah, you do that.

When are you going to stop making excuses for yourself and family?

IAAL I'm not trying to impress you or anyone else. Why don't you quit pretending to be a laywer and get a life. I am talking about a very serious problem and you are no help at all.. You are an idiot. I guess your family is perfect.....

My response:

I'm sorry. Didn't I stroke you enough? I guess I didn't give you a nice, warm, blanket. Baby, I have a life - - but, in that "life" I have to practice law and look at the likes of you criminals walking into my clean offices. People like you don't even have the decency to bother getting dressed properly when you come to a professional law office. You're all a bunch of dirty, smelly, trailer trash criminals!

Help? What kind of "help"? Looking for someone to give your little bundle of joy an "escape" - - a defense? Is that the "help" you wanted?

My family is "perfect" - - at least when you compare them to your idiotic criminal family!

BULLCRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alcoholism is a CHOICE that CAN develop into an addiction. If it were a disease you could catch it on a dirty toilet seat or by exchanging bodily fluids.

You lost me when you started making excuses for your little brat instead of making her face her responsibilities.

She was driving to the store in a friends car. Was speeding and had her hi beams on
Are these the reasons the officer said he pulled her over for?

If so, I find it hard to believe that this was her first drinking experience. Because, for someone who has never drank alcohol before to blow a .10, they would have to be driving all over the road. Probably stop to throw up a couple of times and then all over the road again. But not just speeding to the nearest liquor store for more booze.

So if the officer didn't notice her swerving while she was operating this unfamiliar vehicle, with enough alcohol in her system to blow a .10, you can bet that she is already a seasoned drinker!

Yeah, so stop crying about it. The leanest punishment she deserves is to not be able to get a license for at least a couple of years and you should be enforcing that, not claiming that it's the end of the world.

How exactly are you making your second DUI child pay for being so dangerous to other drivers?

I guess I shouldn't have ever mentioned that my oldest son had been through this. He is 29 years old he doesn't live with me and hasn't lived with me since he was 16. He lived with his Dad who is a drinker. OK . So how am I supposed to make a 29 year old pay for what he did. I am of course going to defend my daughter she is my daughter and I love her. OMG. And I don't live in a trailer either! And I'm not stupid enough to think that my daughter hasn't ever drank before. I know she has. I'm not with her 24-7. I thank God that she didn't kill someone or herself and I know she will be punished. I'm not trying to get her off. She was charged with a 23152(A)(B)V.C. She did a very stupid thing and I am not saying that she has not done anything stupid before. I am not that naive.

Jesus, how dense can someone get??
Of course I meant the CHILD that you came here asking advice for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What punishment are YOU putting her on?
Your ADULT child is already beyond repair if you let him be raised by a drunk.
